The Scottish car of the year awards were recently held and Jaguar walks away with two awards. The F-Type and the all-new XE are announced as winners!

Jaguar has been enjoying some recent success and the good times keep coming as they were named a winner in two prestigious categories at the Scottish Car of the Year Awards 2014 held in St. Andrews last week. The Jaguar F-Type was given the best Coupe Award and was dubbed “An outstanding category winner”. And the all-new XE was named the first winner of the new “SCOTY” category: “Best Design and Innovation”.

This was quite the accomplishment for the F-Type due to the tough competition in the Coupe category, it’s not easy to beat out the German Big 3, but looks like the F-Type is ready to strut out front proudly. Alisdair Suttie presented the award and said of the F-Type “This is a car that puts Jaguar right at the top of the sector where it belongs. With jaw-dropping looks, great driving dynamics, and a hard top to keep off Scotland’s winter weather, the F-Type Coupe is a clear judge’s favorite, an immediate modern classic and a truly outstanding category winner”.

The new XE to be launched in spring 2015 has already gained some praises from consumers and will bring a fresh style to the sedan market. The new category for motor industry’s best design and innovation was awarded to the XE and accepted by Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum.

Stephen Park (Association of Scottish Motoring Writers Secretary) said “It takes something special to raise the game in the fast paced automotive world, and that’s exactly what the Jaguar XE does. A clear winner of the Best Design and innovation Award, it is a car that delivers endless style on the outside and multitude of intelligent technical advances under the skin”.

It is good to see the experts agree with the masses and award these prestigious awards to a couple of well-deserved pace setters like the F-Type and the XE. I feel like it will not be the last that the XE wins and after its launch I see more success in its future. Also as I have been saying for a few weeks now, the F-Type wins you over at first glance and as more consumers see it they will migrate to its sexy and sleek lines. As long as Jaguar continues to bring us these fresh new looks that also tickle our senses and captures that classic Jaguar design, they may pile on more awards.
