Jaguar continues to wow us with sophisticated new cars and the new 2015 XJR is about to blow your mind with luxury and performance in a combination that you may have to see to believe. How is it possible to have a sedan weighing over 4100 lbs. and be able to sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds?

According to Jaguar USA the 2015 XJR is equipped with a Supercharged V8 with 550 horsepower and 502 ft. lbs. of torque. Its ferocious power plant is capable of a 0 – 60 time of 4.4 secs. The top speed is limited to 174 mph electronically but it does this with style and grace like no other sedan; however at over 170 mph don’t expect to get anywhere close to the 15 mpg city or 23 mpg highway that’s advertised. The XJR’s were tested and tuned at the famed Nürburgring race track in Germany where so many historic test runs have been lapped by some of the world best drivers.

Loaded with most every high tech and luxury feature that Jaguar makes, the 2015 XJR sedan is equipped with heated and cooled seats in the front and rear. The interior is just as elegant as you would expect from Jaguar’s flagship model with glove-soft leather and wood trim. The 8 speed automatic transmission helps lay the power to the 20” wheels. The XJR is offered in a short or extended wheelbase.

Jaguar is packing a power punch for its competitors including the Audi S8, Mercedes S63 AMG, and the Maserati Quattropote. The luxurious XJR has a price range from $75k to $120K but offers a chiseled and muscular look that is sure to turns heads with its sophisticated looks.

However, don’t forget that with the supercharged 550 horsepower beast under the hood and the tuned sport exhaust system with quad tail pipes, you will think you are in the 2016 F-Type “hotrod” used in the land speed record testing article previously covered in our Jaguar section.
