Elon Musk Reveals Tesla Model 3 Updates For 2023

Tesla often makes updates to their vehicles based on findings and feedback. There is information about upcoming changes to the Tesla Model 3 and here is what the future holds.

There are potential removals. The company has switched over to the Tesla Model 3 in Fremont, CA. Before the cars roll out, customers won't get certain features that they are used to. Tesla vision became the normal standard in 2021. In 2023, the ultra sonic sensors are being removed in vehicles made after October, 2022.

There are 12 ultra sonic sensors installed on the front and rear bump of a Tesla that support anti collision safety systems. Tesla's auto pilot technology has improved over the years and this is now going to be the way that Tesla views the world around it.

The vehicles already reflect this change that are being made and you won't see the sensors on the vehicle. There will be some limitations. Some features will be restricted like summon and smart summon, until it can be proven that those are still working without the sensors.

Other Features

Auto pilot and FSD features will be unaffected. Blind spot monitoring and autonomous emergency braking, along with emergency lane assist will be unchanged. These are features that are expected by customers.

In addition to this, Tesla has a lot of pressure to make sure that Tesla vision is capable of everything that it claims to be able to do. The good news is that the new software will give Tesla autopilot more visibility, high definition spatial positioning and better being able to identify objects.

There is less complexity with the sensors being removed and it will cost less to make the vehicles which is nice. Tesla is looking to minimize its vehicles.

There will also be removal of stalks on the left and right. These will be integrated with buttons on the steering wheel. There is also the possibility that these features will leave the steering wheel altogether.

There are some features that you can expect. The major hardware change is the introduction of the AMD Ryzen processor to the infotainment system. There will also be an advanced in car gaming experience. There will also be a carbon fiber option to the side and front of the inside of the car.

For software updates, there will be reverse summon and park seek when the latest model is released next year. Tesla's auto pilot seems to reflect this update. When you arrive at your destination, all you have to do is step out of your car and enter park seek mode. Your car will automatically look for an empty parking spot. This will be pretty cool to not have to look for a parking spot.

Looking for blank parking spots will be a nice features and I'm looking forward to that.

What do you think of these updates by Tesla? Will you get a Tesla Model 3?

Not at all interested in games in my Tesla. I’d rather keep ultra sonic sensors and not have any gaming software installed.
No stalks seems a bit brave. After a lifetime of using the stalk to indicate, activate wipers etc I’ll be interested to see how intuitive their replacements will be. Not having light controls easily to hand is already annoying and a sometimes a safety issue, eg when encountering thick fog and the fog lights not coming on automatically.
Was on the verge of updating my Model 3, but will now have to wait for a test drive in one of the new versions before deciding.

By referring to Tesla's product as 'autopilot' or even 'auto pilot' (ie without a capital 'A') your are contributing to the reckless few who are going to ruin a generally very good driver assistance package when regulators conclude that it is to open to misuse and *ban* it. Autopilot (with a capital 'A') is a *name* not a guaranty!

What I would like us a real radio! I pretty much drive in silence or I set a station on my XM phone app and just let it play bc anything else is distracting. I can't believe this hasn't been discussed to no end. Or how when you get a car wash and the windows keep opening that little bit when you open and close the doors drives me nuts when drying the car. Also, the sideview mirrors are so damn small so as they practically useless. Lots of things to love but these quirks, and there are MANY more, that have my car sitting on a lot right now for sale while I unfortunately drive my gas guzzling jeep grand Cherokee.
