Tesla Slashing Prices and Offering Customers Incentives In End Of Year Sales Rush

Tesla is slashing the price of its Model 3 and Model Y vehicles and offering $1,000 off to early Cybertruck reservation holders, as well as offering incentives such as 6 months free Supercharging in a year-end sales push.

Tesla - Year-End Sales Push

The end of the year is usually a rush for Tesla, to try and sell existing inventory and make as many deliveries as it can for the end of the year and to reach its numbers. Tesla has said they will deliver about 1.8 million vehicles this year. They will need to deliver close to 500,000 this quarter in order to do that.

Tesla is doing many things to make this happen. They are sending texts to Cybertruck early reservation holders, offering $1,000 off the purchase of any Tesla vehicle (besides a Cybertruck).

Tesla is also discounting existing inventory. In some cases, there is a Model 3 vehicle for as low as around $22,000 with incentives. This is such a low price compared to the $44,900 base price I paid, but I still love my car!

This picture right here is a $35,090 Model 3 (with NO incentives) - that's the price it was in 2016 at the unveiling! 7 years later with inflation and you can get it for $35,000. That's insane! And the tax credit for $7,500 makes it even cheaper.

Tesla is also offering free 6 months of Supercharging to those who take delivery before the end of 2023!

Tesla is also offering accessories for its vehicles and the Cybertruck in its online shop - and even 3rd party companies are offering armored accessories for the Cybertruck.

Tesla also released a Cybertruck for Kids for $1,500. They are doing everything they can as the year 2023 comes to a close. By the way, I can't believe it's almost 2024...

The End of 2023 for Tesla

These last few weeks will be very busy for Tesla, and there will be a rush to get cars shipped and delivered to customers. The port of Shanghai South is filled with thousands of Tesla Model 3 vehicles, getting ready to ship overseas to customers.

I would have to say that now is a good time to buy a Tesla vehicle. If you are looking for a low-cost vehicle, the Model 3 RWD has never been cheaper with incentives. It will lose the full $7,500 tax credit next year.

It used to be that next year, it would be $3,750 and be "point of sale", which means it will happen at the time of purchase rather than having to wait until you file your taxes the following year.

However, recent news has stated that the Model 3 RWD and Model 3 Long Range have entirely lost the tax credit for 2024.

All of Tesla's other vehicles (besides the Cybertruck) have come down in price, and this is largely due to lower cost of supplies and reaching volume production.

The Cybertruck will command a price premium until Tesla reaches volume production with it. I expect to get an AWD (dual-motor) Cybertruck in the future. It's $79,990 and around $72,500 with the tax credit. That's still too high for me, so I am looking for it to come down another $10,000 to $15,000. I am saving up frantically for it.

Beyond lowering prices of existing inventory, Tesla has also fought back against some FUD recently, over claims that its Autopilot software is causing crashes by being used in locations that it shouldn't be. It's good to see Tesla getting engaged in public relations like this.
