Multiple Tesla Cybertrucks Spotted on the Highway on the Back of a Ford F-250 Truck Ahead of Deliveries

Tesla introduced the Cybertruck back in 2019. Initially, the vehicle was expected to begin deliveries in 2021, however, after multiple delays, Tesla has yet to deliver the truck to its first owner.

The multiple Cybertruck delays have been frustrating, however, the wait appears to finally be over. Not only has Tesla finished the factory that will build the futuristic truck, but, Tesla is also well underway tooling the building where the Cybertruck will be built.

We have also seen multiple Cybertruck prototypes testing out in the wild. These Cybertruck sightings have been all around the world from obvious locations such as in Palo Alto, California close to Tesla’s design studio, and in Austin, Texas in the factory where the truck will eventually be produced, to all the way out to Alaska, and New Zealand.

All the Cybertruck sightings have been exciting. However, when we thought seeing these vehicles out on the road is becoming commonplace, today, Tesla has given us a special Cybetruck scene.

Here is what Torque News editor Armen Hareyan thinks these two Cybertrucks are headed in a recent video report in our Torque News Youtube channel.

Unlike all previous Cybertruck sightings, today’s sighting involved not one but 2 Cybertruck prototypes out in the wild together. This is the first time multiple Cybertrucks have been spotted together outside of a Tesla facility.

Seeing multiple Cybertrucks being hauled on the back of a truck is a sight to behold not only because it suggests that Tesla is close to starting deliveries but because it also gives a kind of prelude to how the vehicles will look being transported when Tesla finally begins deliveries.

Another thing that makes this particular Cybertruck sighting special is the vehicle the prototypes are being transported on. From the picture above we can see the Cybertruck prototypes are being carried by a Ford F-250.

The Ford F series of vehicles including the Ford F-150, F-250, and F-350 are the besting selling vehicles of any type in the US. And, once Tesla starts selling the Cybertruck in earnest, the Ford F series of vehicles is expected to be its main competition.

There are a lot of people in the trucking world who do not consider the Cybertruck as a “real” truck. Ford CEO Jim Farley in a CNBC interview, yesterday even said “The reality is, America loves an underdog — and we are the market leader for EV trucks and vans, and we know those customers better than anyone. And if [Elon Musk] wants to design a Cybertruck for Silicon Valley people, fine. It’s like a cool high-end product parked in front of a hotel. But I don’t make trucks like that. I make trucks for real people who do real work, and that’s a different kind of truck.”

Today’s sighting is one point for the Ford F series of trucks, and Farley’s point that he makes trucks “for real people who do real work.” However, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has also promised that the Cybertruck will be a once-in-a-generation vehicle.

And without even knowing the final specs of the Cbyertruck, it’s too early to make an earnest comparison between Ford’s trucks and the Cybertruck. Having said that, we will be sure to keep you posted once we get better information about the Cybertruck and how it stacks up against the competition.
