The 2024 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid: A Powerful and Efficient New Option for Mid-Size Truck Buyers

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma's hybrid powertrain offers impressive power and torque and the Tacoma's new platform accommodates future hybrid powertrains.

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is a complete ground-up redesign that marks the beginning of the fourth generation of the Tacoma model. The new truck is more powerful, more efficient, and more capable than ever before.

One of the most significant changes to the 2024 Tacoma is the introduction of a hybrid powertrain option. The i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain combines a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to produce 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. This makes the Tacoma Hybrid the most powerful Tacoma ever offered.

In addition to its impressive power, the Tacoma Hybrid is also very efficient. The EPA estimates that the Tacoma Hybrid will get up to 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. This makes it one of the most fuel-efficient mid-size trucks on the market.

The Tacoma Hybrid is also very capable off-road. It comes standard with Toyota's Multi-Terrain Select system, which allows drivers to choose the optimal settings for different terrain conditions. The Tacoma Hybrid also has a higher ground clearance than the non-hybrid Tacoma, making it easier to tackle obstacles.

In addition to the hybrid powertrain, the 2024 Tacoma also offers a variety of other improvements over the previous generation. These include a new interior with more space and amenities, a more modern exterior design, and a wider range of off-road features.

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is sure to be a popular choice for mid-size truck buyers who are looking for a powerful, efficient, and capable truck. The hybrid powertrain is a major new addition that will appeal to buyers who want to save money on fuel without sacrificing performance.

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid vs. the Competition

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid is not the only hybrid mid-size truck on the market. The Ford Ranger Hybrid and the GMC Canyon Hybrid are two other popular options.

The Ford Ranger Hybrid offers similar fuel economy to the Tacoma Hybrid, but it has less power. The GMC Canyon Hybrid offers more power than the Tacoma Hybrid, but it has slightly worse fuel economy.

Ultimately, the best hybrid mid-size truck for you will depend on your individual needs and preferences. If you're looking for the most powerful hybrid mid-size truck, the GMC Canyon Hybrid is a good option. If you're looking for the most fuel-efficient hybrid mid-size truck, the Ford Ranger Hybrid is a good option. And if you're looking for a hybrid mid-size truck that offers a good balance of power and fuel economy, the Toyota Tacoma Hybrid is a good option.

Just curious about the GMC Canyon Hybrid? As far as I know, the Canyon & it's sibling Chevrolet Colorado are only available with a 2.7l turbocharged 4cyl engine.

Reading through this article I was liking some of the information. Then I came to the part where the Tacoma Hybrid is compared to the Ford and GM Hyrbid Mid Size trucks and then all credibility went out the window.

Sounds like an AI generated article to me. Especially when it talks about the Ranger Hybrid and GMC canyon hybrid which aren't even out yet. At the end it also pretty much copies and pasted a few paragraphs from near the start.

I believe that the Tacoma hybrid only comes in the 4 door model so I won't even consider buying this fake truck. You can't get a load of mulch in a 5 foot bed, it is inconvenient to carry a sheet of plywood, and with a cap, you can't sleep back there when camping. Most trucks have 4 doors today BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT MANUFSCTURERS ARE MAKING, NOT BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE WANT ONE. Wise up, truck companies!

i am disappointed with the 2.4L 4cyl motor. with this much torque and HP it wearsbout faster than a 3.5L 6 cyl motor. that’s my concern and perhaps my ignorance is in the way. Either way i feel more comfortable keeping my 2021 Taco TRD and maybe might consider getting the Magnusen Supercharger upgrade that yields 30% power and torque add on. a six cylinder larger motor is more robust.

I also need a 6 foot bed, and I read on another website that several of the 2024 Tacoma models will be available with 5 or 6 foot bed, including the off road version with double cab that I seek. I am not, however, sure if the hybrid will be available with that bed length.

Being in the trades one does not need to go to work in car/truck. Toyota is my number one choice for my family vehicles. I am sad to see the long waiting hybrid Tacoma, is all show and no go for the trade force.

i prefer to stick with my 3.5L 6cyl. Has enough power. there are turbocharge options available like the Magnuson Supercharger for about $7k- adds 30% power. but that’s not cost effective. just buy a Ford F150 for these toyota proposed price levels. i am an avid toyota consumer and bought 7 since 2011. i have been wanting to buy another one but the factory and dealers are really making it difficult since i have to test drive a car before i make a decision- I will NOT pre order at the factory EVER. And a 4cyl truck hybrid or not is just not what i believe is what i want.

I have a 2022 Tacoma ice that already gets 22 mpg so 24/30 is hardly earth shattering. The increased cost and complexity of the hybrid would not be worth the exchange. I'll hold off for Toyota's promised solid state ev with a 900 mile range and a 10 min recharge. Toyota isn't fibbing about that are they?

I hope someone from your firm takes this post down soon . . . .hardly any of the information is accurate, but obviously people click on it ( I did) thinking there is new information about the 2024 tacoma . . .makes me want to block anything I see from torque news going forward so I do not waste my time.

I am an owner of a Tacoma, it's my fourth one. This looks pretty good but, not good enough. I would like it to go on Electric only for example around 50 miles of so?!! The performance it is great, but the efficiency does not. For that reason I we'll weight for the CyberTruck...

This is the first example on the internet I've scene of blatant misinformation on a seemingly credible 'news site' that is clearly unverified AI trash babble. Shame on you Torquenews; Google will have to find a way to weed this crap out in the near future.
