Toyota teased another 2022 Tundra picture this week. Many clues and features were revealed.

If you want to play with the Toyota big boys, you must show you can play with the Toyota big boys.

Over the years the Toyota Tundra, and I am speaking to you TRD Pro specifically, has failed to join both 4Runner and Tacoma with essential off-roading resources.

Well, with this latest 2022 Tundra teaser video, I feel Tundra is ready to play.

Hardball.

2022 Toyota Tundra Teaser

The latest teaser video is short but captures many important new features that Toyota Tundra fans have been asking about for years.

First, we see that 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will carry both multi-terrain select and crawl control features.

These integrated systems will assist drivers who need additional traction and steering control as they navigate challenging terrain and obstacles.

Also helping drivers will be new multi-information display graphics showing approach and departure angles. We also will have valuable pitch and roll angle graphics.

I find this symbolic that 2022 Tundra will simply be able to do things and go places it could not in previous years.

Other 2022 Tundra reveals

Look for a 2022 Tundra TRD Pro that offers red perforated leather seats with “TRD Pro” stitched into the seat back.

A blinged-out brand-new Toyota Tundra control knob allows drivers to adjust various settings. Among them are multi-terrain select, crawl control, downhill assist control, tow/haul and drive modes.

I would expect drive modes to include normal, ECO and something resembling sport or power mode. Since Tundra TRD Pro is assumed to offer a Tundra Hybrid power plant option, there may be an all-electric EV mode here as well.
But that is speculation on my part.

Plan on a new Qi wireless charging station for your cell phones also.

2022 Toyota Tundra release date

Potential buyers looking for a release date will have to wait for this information. I would say to expect new 2022 Tundra trucks to reach dealerships across the country sometime in the November to December time frame.

The ongoing vehicle shortage could impact next-gen Toyota Tundra release date and inventory supply. No word on how Toyota is planning to launch in the midst of this critical industry-wide car and truck shortage.

As for when we will get an official 2022 Toyota Tundra reveal, including vital specifications, this is still unknown.

However, look at the time that is on the cell phone in the teaser picture. Perhaps this is by chance. A mere coincidence.

But maybe this is the date (9-19) that we will hear every detail about 2022 Tundra we have been waiting for.

I looked at the calendar, and September 19th falls on a Sunday. Would Toyota make such an important reveal on a Sunday?

Time will tell.

Ready to get a new truck soon.
Hoping the new Tundra Hybrid has a good inverter option which meets or exceeds Ford’s F150 Hybrid 7.2k amps
