Chrysler will be the first Stellantis brand to debut the futuristic cockpit that takes luxury to the ultimate level. Driving could be hands free and you won't have to keep your eyes on the road. The demo is on display at CES 2023.

One of Stellantis’ big unveilings at CES 2023 is what they envision as the cockpit of the future. It is called the Chrysler Synthesis Cockpit and will debut on a future Chrysler electric vehicle. The new driver’s experience will highlight how Chrysler will combine all of Stellantis’ latest technology to create the ultimate driving experience. It is an extension of the Chrysler Airflow concept that debuted at CES 2022.

‘Harmony in Motion’

Chrysler will use several of Stellantis’ technologies to create what it calls ‘Harmony in Motion’. The different technology platforms are called STLA Brain, STLA Smart Cockpit and STLA AutoDrive. The two-seat Chrysler Synthesis demo shows how the driver can use their phone, personal assistant and autonomous driving to go about their daily tasks. Chrysler still plans to launch its first battery electric vehicle in 2025 and be all electric by 2028.

“For nearly 100 years, Chrysler has created ingenious products and technologies for mainstream customers, and Chrysler will continue that legacy of innovation as the first to launch the STLA Smart Cockpit in North America. The Chrysler Synthesis shown at CES 2023 represents the future of Chrysler brand design, technology and customer experience by introducing customer-centric design and intuitive, seamlessly connected technology for real life,” said Chris Feuell, Chrysler brand CEO – Stellantis. “Chrysler is focused on delivering Harmony In Motion for every aspect of the customer experience with the product, technology, purchase and ownership experiences, resulting in harmony with the planet, our products, services and customer experiences.”

Chrysler Synthesis Features

The Synthesis demo shows the cockpit with 37.2 inches of infotainment for both front-row occupants. Over-the-air (OTA) allows the continual updating of software features, automatically downloading content and enhancements over the air to keep the vehicle up-to-date on the latest technology.

One of the most fascinating aspects of the new technology is STLA AutoDrive. It delivers Level 3 autonomous driving, which allows the driver to take his hands off the steering wheel and eyes off the road. Chrysler doesn’t say how far into the future they are looking, before this technology is available.

Connectivity is taken to the next level through a virtual personal assistant with the ability to synchronize all aspects of the customer’s lifestyle, including home, work and personal devices. The increased connectivity means the vehicle could sync your calendar, plan the route, and even drive you to the appointment autonomously while you work on something else. The vehicle’s virtual personal assistant could recommend parking and charging options. It could also assist with online shopping, and even connect to your smart home.

Demo Based on the Airflow Concept

The two-seater Chrysler Synthesis cockpit is inspired by the look and feel of the Chrysler Airflow Concept that debuted last year at CES 2022 and represents Chrysler’s future design direction.

The demo envisions a vehicle equipped with Chill/Zen/Fun Modes. The cockpit can create a sensory experience and encourage meditation. It can allow karaoke or other activities while the vehicle is stationary or driving autonomously.
