Mercedes-Benz Gives the 2016 GLA Class Some Small Updates

Even though it was introduced back in 2014, the GLA-Class is now the second-oldest model in Mercedes-Benz's utility lineup. The German automaker thought it was time to give the GLA some small updates.

All of the changes are inside and begins with the infotainment system. Mercedes has swapped the 5.8-screen for a new 7-inch display. It features a new media interface, HD Voice compatibility for hands-free calls, and is pre-wired for a Garmin navigation system. The standard equipment list sees a nice boost with the addition dual-zone climate control, keyless ignition, and seat cushion adjustment.

Engine choices remain unchanged for the 2016 model year. The base GLA250 come with a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder with 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The Mercedes-AMG GLA45 comes with a reworked turbo 2.0L with 355 horsepower and 332 pound-feet.

Yes and the reason for that is Mercedes has been introducing redesigned and updated models since the GLA was launched in 2014. First we had the GLE-Class (replacement for the midsize M-Class) and the GLE Coupe. This was followed by the GLC-Class (replacement for the GLK-Class) and the GLS-Class (replacement for the GL-Class).
