Electric Vehicle Death Risks This Mechanic Wants You to Hear the Truth About

Are you for the 2035 ban against the production and sale of internal combustion engine vehicles? Do you believe FSD really exists today? Here’s the latest on the real risks of EVs and what happens when you are in a collision involving one that is food for thought before deciding on where you stand on these issues.

A Case Made Against EV Trucks and the Tech That Comes with Them (or will soon)

How much more dangerous are electric trucks than a conventional ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicle? Probably more than you and many others realize. And if you are guessing over which type of collision statistically produces the most fatalities, the odds are pretty good that you would also guess wrong on that one as well.

The point here is that both of these questions are related. And to fully understand and appreciate the answers to these types of questions you need to know something about the 5 different types of collisions that occur, how they compare when it comes to fatality likelihood, why texting is considered worse than driving drunk, and how some simple physics ties all of this together when it comes to the risks of Electric Vehicle-related deaths compared to ICE vehicle-related deaths.

That is the message in a recently posted Scotty Kilmer YouTube channel episode where Scotty voices his concerns that he says no one is talking about yet while EV and ICE Worlds are literally on a collision course with each other.

In a nutshell, yes there are continued improvements in airbag deployment and crumple zone design to protect motorists, but the safety tech is currently outmatched by simple physics when the two dissimilar vehicle types collide. Furthermore, FSD (full self-driving) has not been achieved yet, but too many people act like it’s here already…and safe.

That said, here’s what Scotty has to say in this short video that raises some probing questions about where we are headed down the road with the changes we see in automotive tech today,

No One is Talking About Electric Car Deaths, So I Have to

And finally…

We would like to hear from you: Is Scotty just another stereotyped disgruntled old guy resisting change; or, do you think that he is onto something that is being ignored right now? Please let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Scotty is right. There is no infrastructure of any way shape or form: Not enough places to charge. Not enough electric plants. No Mechanic's to fix them. Parts are and will be in short supply. Homes will have to have their electric panels and wireing up upgraded, at extra costs. Insurance will be higher. As is starting to happen now, when the battery packs are depleted, they'll cost more to replace, than the vehicles are worth. So after 7-10 years, people will have to junk them, and buy another. That will be a endless cycle of car payments. There aren't any places to disassemble and recycle them. Where is all this money going to come from, OUR POCKETS. We need to let the government know, that we are not ready, in anyway, shape or form, to have EV'S, shoved down our throats. Hybrid's make more sense, to do first. That would give us the time to get ready for EV'S.

A relative of a firemen family they hate EV auto's! If someone is in a crash where they need the jaws of life! Well now they can not help you immediately! Instead they have to waste time to mess with disengaging that EV battery since car is electrified! Your chances of survival now are shortened versus that gas vehicle crash!

Yes..... I agree this article has a lot of merit to it, yet only scratches the surface of all the problems that will come from this pursuit of EVs. The list of issues that come to mind are far too great to get into a comment thread, but range from the dangers of fires in collisions or shorted batteries, to the environmental issues involved with mining the materials needed, to the environmental issues involved in the disposal of spent batteries.....so to me, the GREEN benefit does not outweigh the problems that will be created. In all honesty, I see all of this being a fad that turns into a bad idea later in time and all industries will realize that you cannot replace IC engines. They simply have far superior safety, load capabilities, range, and flexibility. Our power grids aren't up to snuff and cannot handle the number of charging stations that will be required to keep America moving... and people are not going to stand for the shorter distances they are able to travel along with the time it will take to recharge their vehicles before they can continue on their journeys. I'm sorry to all those that believe differently about this, but to myself, there is only one proven and practical use for EVs and that is for transportation around a golf course....... not as a replacement for our daily gas powered vehicles. Nuff said........KM.

There is nothing to this article other than to say you agree with Scotty Kilmer. And there is very little information in his video.

How much more dangerous are electric trucks than a conventional ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicle? -not answered in this article or the video
Which type of collision statistically produces the most fatalities,

odds are pretty good that you would also guess wrong on that one as well. -Are you guessing?

There is a lot to this. Scotty does plenty of research before he puts anything out there. And he does an amazing job creating content that resonates with the many different people in his audience.
Some of us absorb hours of technical streams every day because we need detailed information to form opinions. Then some of us just don't have the time or the attention span to sit through boring videos full of statistics and technically detailed information and may not require such detail for the message to sink in. Scotty creates good content, combined with his interesting character he gets his message to a huge audience.
Thank you Scotty, everyone loves your videos.
