The 2021 Subaru WRX and WRX STI are not slowing down ahead of the remodel. Check out why the next-generation performance car could be great.

Before a complete remodel, the 2021 Subaru WRX and WRX STI performance cars sell better than others in their category. Subaru of America reported July sales, and it’s also third in Subaru’s lineup with a 36.1 percent increase year-to-date. The WRX and STI posted a 25 percent increase in July, with 2,305 sports cars delivered to customers compared with 1,845 in July 2020.

Ahead of its redesign, the 2021 WRX and STI are selling better than all other sports cars in the first half of 2021. A new report reveals they even outsold the Chevrolet Corvette. Check out the total sports car sales through June 2021.

When the sport-tuned 2022 Subaru WRX and performance-tuned 2023 Subaru WRX STI arrive, the sedans could go from good to great. New sports car sales are not slowing down, and demand for used models is also high.

Sales will jump even more when the 2022 Subaru WRX arrives this year with a new 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer engine upgrade with more horsepower, improved suspension tuning, and hopefully a bold new exterior.

The 2023 Subaru WRX STI will arrive a year later with a 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer engine, tuned by Subaru Tecnica International, with close to 400 horsepower if reports are accurate.

The New York International Auto Show cancellation delayed the 2022 WRX reveal due to the COVID outbreak in New York City. When will performance fans see the all-new WRX? Subaru of America has not released information yet and may choose an online reveal, or they could wait for the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Stay tuned.

If sales of the 2021 Subaru WRX and STI are leading all sports car sales now, the next-generation 2022 Subaru WRX and 2023 Subaru WRX STI could go from good to great.

I find it hard to believe it out sold all sports cars. Be interested to know what the mustang sales are comparatively.

Is there any new information available whether Subaru of America will receive a “final edition STI” and/or how many?
