The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek gets another award. This one will benefit buyers of the small SUV. Check out its new retained value award.

I have covered how Subaru historically has had vehicles with the best-retained value, and it continues with two 2024 model-year vehicles. According to the 2024 Canadian Black Book Best Retained Value Awards, the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek wins the Best Retained Value in SUV: Main Sub-Compact category. The 2024 Subaru BRZ places second in the Sports Car: Mainstream category

Subaru also takes home an award. The automaker places third in the best Overall Brand in the Truck/SUV category.

Subaru says, "This demonstrates the long-term value of Subaru vehicles, a factor important to the decision-making process of purchasing a vehicle."

What does it mean for Subaru customers?

The Canadian Black Book Best Retained Value Awards acknowledge vehicles that retain the highest percentage of their original MSRP after four years. This is extremely valuable information for consumers, given that depreciation is the single most significant expense of vehicle ownership. For November 2023, the awards program analyzed model year 2020 cars, trucks, and SUVs in 15 vehicle categories.

The CBB award for Subaru Crosstrek and BRZ lets consumers know that the vehicles will retain their value better than other models. This can make the most significant difference when you trade your car after 3-5 years. You'll get more for your trade-in than other carmakers' vehicles.

"Receiving this Retained Value Award acknowledges our vehicle's enduring worth," said SCI Chairman, President, and CEO Tomohiro Kubota. "Subaru models continue to stand out amongst their competitors by offering capability, performance, and long-term value."

According to a new Consumer Reports ranking I recently covered, the all-new Subaru Crosstrek is one of the seven best SUVs under $30,000. You can check it out here.

Consumer Reports says, "The Crosstrek got an evolutionary redesign for 2024. It's still essentially a raised Impreza hatchback with a very comfortable ride and standard all-wheel drive. Acceleration from the standard 2.0-liter engine is leisurely, and we got 29 mpg overall in our tests. The optional 2.5-liter has more power and better acceleration."

I covered the new BRZ award from Car and Driver. The 2024 Subaru BRZ is recognized by Car and Driver as the best in its annual 10Best Cars honor in 2024. Check the new winning BRZ report here.

Car and Driver says, "Manual, rear-drive, and engineered to delight, drivers looking for affordable performance need to look no further than the Subaru BRZ," said Editor-in-Chief Tony Quiroga.

New car shoppers looking for a small SUV will get the best value from the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. The all-new Crosstrek wins the Best Retained Value in the SUV Main Sub-Compact category for the third consecutive year.
