Subaru of America released pricing on the newly-redesigned 2020 Outback and Legacy models. All models get a price bump, one model jumps up a lot more than the others, and destination and deliver also goes up for both models.

2020 Subaru Outback Pricing

For the 2020 model change, the all-new Outback SUV/Crossover comes in seven trim levels, base trim $27,655 (+$335), Premium $29,905 (+$485), Limited $34,455 (+$635), Touring $38,355 (+$585), Onyx XT Edition $35,905 (New model for 2020), Limited XT $38,755 (up $2,785 from the 3.6R Limited), and Touring XT $40,705 (+$735 from the 3.6R Touring). Destination and delivery charges go up from $975 to $1,010 for the 2020 model change on all Outback models.

The model that took a giant leap in price was the Limited XT trim (+ $2,785) from the discontinued Limited 3.6R trim with the six-cylinder Boxer engine. Limited XT comes with added features like 11.6-inch multimedia navigation, power moonroof, heated steering wheel, insulated front door glass and DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System designed to help drivers who may be distracted.

The new 2020 Outback XT models are powered with the new FA24 Ascent-sourced 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer engine producing 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. The XT turbo comes mated with a high-torque Lineartronic CVT with 8-speed manual control and steering wheel paddle shifters.

2020 Subaru Legacy Pricing

Destination and delivery charges go up from $885 to $900 for the 2020 model change on all Legacy sedans.

Like Outback, the Legacy Limited XT trim with a new 2.4-liter turbo Boxer engine gets the big price bump ($2,665) from the discontinued Limited 3.6R. Legacy gets a new model too. The 2020 Legacy Touring XT trim is the new Legacy model added to the all-wheel-drive sedan lineup. The Touring XT gets added features like a Front View Monitor, exterior mirrors with satin finish and a Nappa leather interior.

Things to know before you buy

The seventh-generation Subaru Outback is coming with improved safety over the outgoing model. All trims now come standard with EyeSight driver assist that act as a second pair of eyes, with a new Lane Centering function that warns you when you sway outside your lane and new Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control that applies full braking force in emergency situations helping you avoid a rear-end collision.

Outback gets even more off-road capability with a new available dual-mode X-MODE, available on the Onyx Edition XT. For outdoor enthusiasts, the Outback adds 3,500 pounds worth of towing capacity to haul your toys to your next adventure. Inside, Outback brings standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and a new high-resolution 11.6-inch touchscreen.

The newly-redesigned 2020 Subaru Outback SUV/Crossover and 2020 Subaru Legacy sedan will arrive in Subaru showrooms this September.
