New Subaru Outback Is Coming But The Old Model Is Still Your Shining Star

The current generation Subaru Outback is still shining brightly. See why it’s the best car for families and a better value now.

The outgoing 2019 Subaru Outback just won’t go away quietly. The all-new six-generation 2020 Outback SUV/Crossover is ready to make its dealer launch and the fifth-generation model is still racking up awards. Outback just scored the Best Car for Families 2019 award from Digital Trends.

The Subaru Outback isn’t just a segment winner, the SUV beats every car in America to take the Best Family Car award. That’s impressive when you consider all the family vehicles it went up against. Digital Trends says they put family vehicles through a comprehensive scrutinizing process, checking out everything from interior features, safety tech, and real-world testing, driving them on highways, back roads, as well as off-road tracks.

What sets Outback apart

Digital Trends gives 5 reasons why the 2019 Subaru Outback is the best car for your family. They say it’s spacious inside, more rugged than your typical family hauler, comes standard with all-wheel-drive, and it has 8.7-inches of ground clearance for off-road adventures.

They also cite Outback’s safety features with its EyeSight driver-assist system. DT says, “It’s truly a car that does it all,” and “It’s all the car you will ever need.” The SUV-alternative Outback has been a top pick for families before and it’s not the first award.

U.S. News and World Report awarded the SUV “Best Cars For Families” in 2016 and was AutoWeb's “Buyers Choice” for best wagon last year. The multi-purpose Outback was also recognized for its “go anywhere” all-wheel-drive capability, spacious cabin, generous cargo space, and its numerous achievements in safety and reliability.

If you want the award-winning fifth-generation 2019 Outback, Subaru is offering incentives and zero percent financing on all remaining models to move them off their lots now. It’s the best time to buy the outgoing model before the all-new six-generation 2020 Subaru Outback arrives in September.

For the 2020 model change, Outback gets improved ride quality, a new 2.4-liter turbo engine, and it’s quieter than the previous generation. The 2020 Subaru Outback SUV/Crossover also gets new interior refinements that should keep the new model on the “Best Cars For Families” award list.

They would literally have to pay me to get me to drive an Outback. I never liked that AMC Eagle "Family Truckster" look. I find it too big for my use, and too "Station wagoney."

Just shows that put enough incentives on a car, especially 0% financing, and the folks will scoop it up, like moths flying to a light.

then why comment ? go look for a different car. the world's factories give you lots of choices so you don't need to put down a choice that others like.
the Suv/CUV/station wagon category is not for you, that's OK,
However Consumer Reports rates both the Subaru Outback and Subaru Forester very highly especially as family vehicles so lots of people do like them.
have a great day :)

I had nothing but problems with my 2018 Subaru Outback Touring 3.6R electronics. On 8/7/19 the shifter wouldn't engage in park. I thought the car was off and when I reached in with my right leg to shut off the engine, it rolled back knocking me to the ground dragging me across the street to neighbors driveway. Sustained multiple injuries and fractured finger. No more Subarus for me. The dealer replaced the shifter stating it was defective.

Subaru love? I don't love road noise! I don't love the way it sways from side go side as though in cross wind. Subaru Outback . I call it S.O.B! I down sized from a F150 . The Ford is quieter and handles much better. Sure you can argue fuel but what is the point when you spend $30,000 for a vehicle ?and

We just took possession of our new 2019 Outback. Love it. Our 2016 was the best SUV we ever had. It replace a decked out Jeep Grand Cherokee so I was used to top of the line SUV These Subaru’s were better in safety features and gas mileage and 10K less than a new Jeep
Never a problem and trade in was amazing. Sold the next day We are a Subaru family now. Our church has a large percentage of Subaru in the parking lot each week and all rave about them

I am basically satisfied with my 2019 6 cylinder Subaru Outback. I had to upgrade the standard weak battery after three months, and find some swtches to be quirky. It took me a while to get used to the high tech features, compared to my 1998 Subaru Outback which I kept for 21 years. The new model is more powerful and quieter that my previous Outback.
