The 2022 Subaru Impreza wins the best small car category, and the 2022 Subaru Outback is the best in the small SUV category.

iSeeCars came up with the best vehicles for snow driving by analyzing the car, SUV, and truck categories. These vehicles achieved a score of 7.5 or above (out of 10) on iSeeCars quality analysis that considers long-term reliability, value retention, and highest average safety ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Based on these criteria, iSeeCars calculated its Quality Score. The vehicles also have all-wheel or four-wheel drive and the correct safety features that aid drivers in snowy conditions. You can read the complete list of iSeeCars Best Cars for Snow here.

Both models come standard with Subaru’s Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system for all-weather capability. The Outback has 8.7-inches of ground clearance. Both models get the highest safety scores, and they come with Subaru’s EyeSight safety technology.

The 2022 Subaru Forester and 2022 Subaru Crosstrek are not on the current iSeeCars list, but Consumer Reports highly rank all three models. Subaru does not have a truck in its lineup, but it would likely score high if the automaker did offer one.

The BRZ sports coupe is the only model with a two-wheel rear-drive configuration.

Subaru created the small all-wheel-drive SUV segment, and now most automakers are offering all-weather capability.
