Subaru of America finally revealed the all-new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek for U.S. customers. Check out the next-generation Crosstrek report with details and images of the upgraded power on its re-tuned engine, new design, and upgraded safety and entertainment technology.

Subaru of America took a long time to uncover the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, but it's finally here. In Subaru's live reveal of the next-generation Crosstrek subcompact SUV from the 2023 Chicago Auto Show floor, they announced what the U.S. specification would offer customers in North America.

Crosstrek enthusiasts had waited since September 2022 when Subaru Corporation first announced the next-generation Japanese-specification Crosstrek. Subaru of America chose to wait and uncover the new U.S.-specification Crosstrek until this year at the Chicago Auto Show. Here are the details. The new Crosstrek gets upgraded power on its re-tuned engine, newly designed exterior styling, and upgraded safety and entertainment technology.

The next-generation Crosstrek is the automaker's most significant launch this year. The top-selling Crosstrek, with its complete remodel, will attract new small SUV buyers to the brand. Here is what small SUV shoppers will get in the newly-remodeled subcompact SUV.

Crosstrek’s new upgrades

Subaru says the third-generation Crosstrek comes with 10-percent stiffer chassis for improved dynamic performance and ride quality. An 11.6-inch Subaru Starlink center information display is available. EyeSight driver assist technology is now standard across all trim levels.

New power upgrade

Subaru announced the Crosstrek Sport, and Limited with the 2.5-liter gets a small bump in torque. The previous model had 182 horsepower and 176 lb. -ft. of torque. The 2024 Crosstrek now has 182 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2.0-liter engine stays with 152 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque.

The good news is the 2024 Crosstrek stays with 8.7 inches of ground clearance, X-Mode, and dual function X-Mode for all-terrain performance.

What is the price of the 2024 Crosstrek?

For 2024, the Crosstrek will be available in Base, Premium, Sport, and Limited trim levels and has a starting price of $26,290 (the same MSRP as the 2023 Base model equipped with the Lineartronic CVT automatic transmission).

The 2024 Crosstrek Premium has a starting price of $27,440, Sport ($30,290), and Limited ($32,190). Pricing includes destination and delivery fees ($1,225). The Premium trim price increased by +$70, the Sport +$1,070, and Limited +$1,470.

Subaru discontinued the Crosstrek Hybrid trim level. New Hybrid models are coming in 2025. Check out the report here. Subaru also discontinues the 6-speed manual transmission in Base and Premium trims.

When will the new Crosstrek be available for U.S. customers?

U.S. customers will get two Crosstrek trim levels sooner. Crosstrek Sport and Limited will be produced in the U.S. for the first time in Lafayette, Indiana. The Base and Premium trims will be made in Japan and available this spring; the Sport and Limited trim levels will come later this summer.

Customers in the U.S. can see the all-new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek at the Chicago Auto Show that runs from February 11-20, 2023. Stay tuned to Subaru Report via Torque News for more next-generation Crosstrek news.

Generally very pleased with my 2020 Forester Touring, but would like to downsize now to the even more parking and city-friendly Crosstrek. Disappointed, though, that the 2024 Crosstrek, as in previous years, apparently does not offer the option of a heated steering wheel in any of the trims. Dealbreaker, up where I live...will await news of the 2024 Forester.

Crosstrek Sport now the same price as an Outback Premium. Remarkable. At least they've got decent headlights and driver assist on all models.

With the introduction of the Toyota Corolla Cross and the much improved Honda HRV and Hyundai Kona, along with the Kia Soul, Mazda CX-30, and others, the Crosstrek is in a much more competitive category than it was when the prior generation Crosstrek was released.
