The 2014 SRT Viper Time Attack coupe is sure to be the best performing of the modern Viper lineup and a new report suggests that the upcoming TA model will be offered in greater numbers – and more colors – than originally expected when the hottest Viper debuted at the New York Auto Show.

The 2014 SRT Viper Time Attack debuted earlier this year at the 2013 New York International Auto Show and while it will be the best performing Viper, it was also slated to be the most limited trimlines in terms of production numbers with just 33 units slated for production. It was expected that the 2014 Viper TA would be offered exclusively in the stunning TA Orange shown here with black trim and based on how freakin’ awesome the Viper TA looks in this color layout, there were really no complaints about the lack of optional colors.

Fortunately for those folks who inexplicably do not like the look of the 2014 SRT Viper TA in TA Orange, Allpar has reported that the Time Attack Viper will also be offered in black or white. More importantly, there will be far more than 33 examples of the Viper TA built so there should be less concern of collector’s buying up all of these Vipers while racers who will actually use these cars for their true purpose are left to look elsewhere. There will reportedly be 93 Viper TA coupes built in TA Orange with 33 in black and 33 in white for a total of 159 Time Attack models for the 2014 model year. This is particularly good news as, with a starting price of $118,485, the Time Attack Viper package could prove to be very popular with racers and cruisers alike.

The 2014 SRT Viper Time Attack features the same 8.4L V10 as the rest of the 2014 Viper lineup but the SRT engineers have added a specially tuned dual mode adjustable Bilstein Damptronic suspension setup, a high performance Brembo braking package with massive two piece rotora, some unique carbon fiber body parts that help to increase downforce by almost 700% at 150 miles per hour and a carbon fiber chassis brace that helps to reduce the curb weight to just 3,390 pounds. You can read everything that there is to know about the new Viper TA here.

It should be noted that the 2014 SRT Viper TA is no longer the most rare of the new Vipers with the freshly announced Anodized Carbon Edition Viper GTS debuting at the LA Auto Show being limited to just 50 units – although that package is simply an appearance package applied to a standard Viper GTS. That slick matte black Viper comes with a starting price of $138,885, making it the most exclusive and the most expensive option in the 2014 Viper lineup. While the Anodized Carbon Viper might not be the best performing, there is no question that this is the nastiest looking snake in the nest so those who want a Viper for looks can line up for the matte black models while those buyers who are looking to hit the track hard will be able to opt for the Viper TA.
