Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, the Goodwood, England-based maker of the world most luxurious automobiles, opened a small showroom today in Paris to showcase its premium motor cars for French buyers.

Over 100 Belgian auto enthusiasts, including the drivers of 30 vintage vehicles and their passengers, arrived at the home of Rolls Royce Motor Cars, Inc. last Monday, thus completing a six-day roadtrip that began six days ago, traveling from Kortrijk through Beaulieu to the Rolls Royce offices in Goodwood.

The ultra-luxury Rolls-Royce brand is talking about bringing to the market an all new hybrid, or soley battery powered vehicle. Although consumers have not been asking for electric vehicles from Rolls-Royce, the brand believes EVs will keep the brand competitive in the market today.

The 1911 Experimental Speed Car known as 1701 will lead 17 historic Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts on Sunday from the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, to re-enact the 1911 London to Edinburgh Top Gear Trial, which solidified the marque's reputation as a world-class luxury car.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is doing on-the-spot hiring of designers, engineers and project-management professionals and expects to double the headcount of its Bespoke staff at Goodwood in West Sussex by the end of 2011. Also wanted by the premium custom carmaker are product marketing and sales professionals.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has celebrated the centenary of the Spirit of Ecstasy in Goodwood, West Sussex, by gathering 100 Rolls-Royces from 1911 through 2011 to show them off in a parade.

Sales of Rolls-Royce luxury automobiles are up, everywhere. There were 1,592 Rolls-Royce Motor Cars assembled, sold and shipped from England to buyers worldwide in the first six months of 2011, up 64% compared with year-ago numbers. It's the best start to a model year for Rolls since 2003.

Coming off a down year when only 1,002 cars were sold, Rolls-Royce had its best year ever with worldwide sales of 2,711. That’s a 171 percent improvement over 2009 and more than doubles the previous record of 1,212 in 2008.
