Need for Speed Custom Ford Mustang GT Hero Car Headed to Auction for Charity

The custom 2014 Ford Mustang GT shown above was built by Ford Motor Company to serve as the hero car in the action packed racing movie Need for Speed and this unique muscle car will be auctioned off in April with the proceeds benefiting the Henry Ford Health System.

The 2014 Ford Mustang GT shown above is the car star of the upcoming action racing flick Need for Speed with human star Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad serving as the man responsible for driving this beast across the silver screen. This Mustang GT has been fitted with a one of a kind wide body package that includes an aggressive front fascia with huge air intakes, a revised grille with angel eye style fog lights, lower reaching side sills, unique camera side view mirrors, a twin snorkel hood, a unique rear quarter window treatment and gigantic 22” Forgiato wheels that fill out the flared fenders perfectly. Finally, the car is covered in a deep silver metallic paint with twin Kona Blue racing strips running from the front to the back.

“Mustang was cast in a leading role of the movie with screen time equal to many of the actors,” said Steve Ling, North America car marketing manager for Ford. “Director Scott Waugh challenged our team to give this central character enough personality and American masculinity to take on some of the world’s most exotic cars, just like in the popular Electronic Arts video game that inspired the movie. The new owner of this particular Mustang will take home a rare vehicle, and their bid will increase access to critical health care services.”

This is the most aggressive looking Mustang that Ford has built in many years and it is a vast understatement to say that the Need for Speed Hero Car will stand out in a crowd – even when that crowd is packed with customized muscle cars. This is a Mustang for the ages and it will most certainly be a sought after collectable years down the road – which should translate to big money when the Need for Speed Mustang GT is offered up at the Barrett Jackson Palm Beach Auction on April 12th.

The proceeds of the Barrett Jackson auction for the Need for Speed 2014 Ford Mustang GT will go to the Henry Ford Health System – a non-profit organization based in the Detroit area that was founded in 1915 by Ford Motor Company founder Henry Ford to improve the quality of health care services in the Detroit Metro area. The Henry Ford Health System runs a collection of hospitals and medical clinics in and around Detroit while also proving health insurance and health care delivery services to residents of the Motor City.

The Need for Speed movie debuts around the country next weekend on March 14th and movie goers will get to see the custom Mustang GT shown above in all of the high speed, high flying action that Hollywood has to offer with Aaron Paul at the wheel. Joining this 2014 Mustang GT in Need for Speed will be a cameo appearance by the 2015 Ford Mustang GT, which will also be on display at the April 12th Barrett Jackson auction in West Palm Beach, Florida.
