2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 Review: Elegant Interior With Excellent Acceleration

The 2023 GV70 is a sporty vehicle offering a fun driving experience with great acceleration and a nice design. The electrified version, reviewed here, is no exception and keeps the G-Matrix signature on the grille while hiding its charging port.

Let me start this review of the 2023  Genesis Electrified GV70 from its charging point. As I reviewed it for a week for Torque News it took me a while to find the charging port, which Genesis is carefully hiding under the grille. Genesis cleverly integrates it into the design. It's located behind a discreet door on the front grille. Look for the "G" emblem on the grille - the door is right behind it. Once you've found the door, simply press the button next to it to release the latch. The door will swing open to reveal the charging port. The GV70 Electrified uses the standard CCS/SAE J1772 charging port, so you'll be able to use most public and home charging stations.

What's New in 2024 GV70 Electrified

The Electrified GV70 is a new vehicle in the Genesis lineup and the carmaker launched it in 2023.  Since we are now entering the year 2024, the only noticeable changes for the Electrified GV70 2024 are that the Wi-Fi hotspot is standard in all models and Genesis has added five new colors: Uyuni White, Matterhorn White, Alta White, Capri Blue, and Cardiff Green.

The 2024 Genesis Electrified GV70 comes with a price range starting at $67,645 and reaching up to $74,445. This pricing structure is influenced by the chosen trim level and additional options, offering flexibility for buyers with different preferences and budgets. These prices are just a little more than the 2023 models. For example, the 2023 GV70 Electrified's Prestige trim is offered at $73,775.

Speaking of the trim levels. The 2023 Genesis GV70 Electrified is offered in two trims: Advanced and Prestige.

The Electrified GV70 differentiates itself from its gasoline-powered counterpart by exclusively offering the Advanced and Prestige trims. Despite the premium over the conventional model, these trims provide a compelling package right from the start.

Standard features include:

  • Digital gauge display
  • Leather upholstery
  • 20-inch wheels
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Wireless smartphone charging pad

Choosing between the Advanced and Prestige trims depends on individual preferences and desired features. Both trims offer a high level of equipment, ensuring a luxurious driving experience. The decision should be based on personal priorities, such as advanced technology, additional comfort features, or specific aesthetic preferences. Torque News test-drove the Prestige trim for this review.

The 2023 Genesis GV70 Electrified boasts impressive fuel efficiency according to EPA ratings. The all-electric SUV is estimated to deliver an exceptional 98 MPGe in city driving conditions and 83 MPGe on the highway. These figures underscore the vehicle's commitment to eco-friendly performance and its potential to minimize environmental impact.

2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 Review: rear exteriorRange: The only drawback worth noting is the EPA-estimated range of 236 miles per charge. While it may fall short of some competitors, the overall package compensates with its other outstanding features. For more detailed information regarding the Electrified GV70's fuel economy, I recommend checking the official website of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
