Star-Gazing Panoramic Moonroof Revealed for Next-Gen 2022 Toyota Tundra

A popular feature returns and a new one is exposed as Toyota shows off more of its 2022 Tundra. This time, with more interior features.

When I think of all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra, I am reminded of the familiar phrase we have all heard many times over.

“Fast and furious sets the pace, but slow and steady wins the race.”

Toyota has been slowly revealing small pieces of the puzzle that will ultimately be fully revealed as the next-gen Toyota Tundra.

This morning, we got our next view.

In slow and steady fashion.

2022 Toyota Tundra Interior

A 16-second video teaser is all we get for today. However, this clip shows us a little bit more of 2022 Tundra interior.

We are looking at a Tundra CrewMax configuration. CrewMax features a larger back seat and, in the past, a 5.5-foot bed. We may see a longer CrewMax bed this year.

A starry night is exposed thanks to a brand-new Tundra panoramic moonroof. The video does not show us whether the moonroof opens halfway, if it opens all the way, or if it is fixed.

I do see a couple of overhead buttons that might indicate it opens at least partially. Looks like there is a fully powered sunshade that opens and closes. I assume the shade can be stopped at any point from front to back.

Toyota Tundra Back Glass Opens

One of the most popular features for current 2021 Tundra trucks is the powered back glass. This allows drivers to fully open and close their back window from a button in the front of the truck.

This latest video shows that the glass is fully powered once again. Tundra fans should be happy this has returned.

Toyota is also revealing red seating to its fans. Perhaps Cockpit Red that is seen in popular models like Camry and Highlander.

We are not sure if this is red leather or red SofTex material at this time. It looks like the red seats will be accented with a light gray stitching.

The other thing I notice is the use of LED map lighting in the back row. I wonder if LED lights will be standard throughout the interior cabin. Or will LED interior lights be an optional upgrade based on your preferences?

Time for your thoughts on 2022 Toyota Tundra

What do you think of this new 2022 Tundra teaser video?

I love the idea of this fully opening moonroof and feel this will be a welcome addition on higher Tundra trim levels.

As for the red seating, I am only able to assume this will be an available interior seat option on 2022 Tundra TRD Pro.

Previous Toyota teaser pictures have shown a TRD Pro interior with a red-stripe-accented steering wheel. It probably matches the seating.

That would make logical sense. Time will tell if red seats will be offered in other trim levels.

What do you hope to find out next for next-gen Toyota Tundra? Are you a fan of Toyota revealing 2022 Tundra to us in small doses, or are you ready for a full reveal?
