Toyota RAV4 celebrates its 25th anniversary with several new upgrades and changes for 2022. See them all here.

The top-selling small SUV in the country just became even more appealing to buyers. In several ways.

Toyota just announced many new changes – some large and some small – to its wildly popular RAV4.

2022 Toyota RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid just got better. Here is what we know.

2022 RAV4 SE Hybrid

A new RAV4 Hybrid trim level is coming for 2022.

Toyota is positioning this 2022 RAV4 SE Hybrid as “designed for customers looking for sporty performance and sporty style but at a lower price compared to the XSE.”

No word on pricing yet but it will be announced mid-December closer to its on-sale date.

As opposed to the iconic two-tone paint found in RAV4 XSE Hybrid, the SE Hybrid will have just one primary paint color. No gloss black roof here.

However, 2022 RAV4 SE Hybrid will feature black fabric seats (as opposed to SofTex in XSE Hybrid), as well as Toyota Audio with 7-inch multimedia touch screen and six speakers.

You can upgrade RAV4 SE Hybrid with factory option packages like weather package, convenience package and Audio Plus.

Weather package adds heated steering wheel, heated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, and wiper de-icer.

Convenience packages upgrades to height adjustable power liftgate and moonroof. Audio Plus increases touch screen size to nine inches.

The main exterior cornerstone is the use of gloss black alloy wheels. As a matter of fact, most 2022 Toyota RAV4 and 2022 RAV4 Hybrid trims will be getting updated wheel designs and colors.

2022 RAV4 Cavalry Blue

One of the most popular Toyota TRD Pro colors is making its way to 2022 Toyota RAV4 and Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.

Cavalry Blue will be offered in RAV4 XSE Hybrid, RAV4 TRD Off-Road, and RAV4 SE Hybrid.

Other 2022 Toyota RAV4 Changes

The wheels on the RAV go “whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.”

Look for a new wheel design for RAV4 XLE Premium Hybrid, RAV4 Limited Hybrid, and RAV4 XSE Hybrid. A new color is given to RAV4 LE Hybrid, RAV4 XLE, RAV4 Adventure, and RAV4 XLE Hybrid.

I liked this feature for the 2021 RAV4 Prime last year, and I am thrilled to see cool new vertical LED accent lights added to 2022 RAV4 XSE Hybrid.

There will be new headlights on all 2022 RAV4 – XLE grade and above. Also, new LED fog lights are standard on RAV4 XLE Premium, RAV4 Limited, RAV4 Adventure, and RAV4 TRD Off-Road.

2022 Toyota RAV4 Release Date

Look for 2022 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid to go on sale next month in December. You should begin seeing these models at your local dealerships sooner than later.

Of course, with the ongoing vehicle shortage, it is unknown how supplies will look heading into the end of the year and moving forward (yes, I used a fun Toyota slogan here).

Time for Your Toyota RAV4 Comments

What do you think of the changes coming to 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4?

Do you feel you might have interest in the new RAV4 SE Hybrid? I think it will be popular with consumers since it will save money compared to the RAV4 XSE Hybrid.

Hi, my name is Jimmy. I've been trying to purchase the RAV4 Prime XSE since late 2020. I live in Las Vegas & am willing to travel to another state to purchase one. I'll even stay in the market for the 2022 Iconic XSE. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

I wonder if they added some extra insulation material somewhere. There's a lot of complaints about the car being loud. I can't believe that no even the limited has a more quiet cabin vs the lower trims.

I have heard that one of the wheel color options for the 2022 Rav4 hybrids is a dark brown metallic. Is that so? What car body colors would that complimate?
