Chrysler just added some huge perks to its award-winning 2020 Pacifica, and it is adding them a year early!

Chrysler is known for setting the bar when it comes to the minivan and now it is dramatically improving the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica with the addition of the Launch Edition. The Launch Edition is adding three new perks to improve handling and infotainment, which are all important for families that spend a lot of time in the vehicle.

2020 Chrysler Pacifica Launch Adding All-Wheel-Drive

The 2020 Chrysler Launch is adding the most advance all-wheel- drive system available in its class. The Launch Edition will be arriving in dealers in the third quarter, but is available to order now. This will be the first Chrysler AWD minivan since 2004.

What the AWD means is that if the wheels lose traction, the AWD system automatically transfers 100 percent of the available engine torque to the wheels that have the most traction. The AWD system can be especially important in heavy weather conditions, when traveling through snow or rain. AWD is also helpful when not on pavement, like parking in campgrounds or at soccer fields. The AWD system is being added to redesigned 2021 Chrysler Pacifica, but the company decided to make the option available early.

"Reaction was overwhelmingly positive when we announced that the new 2021 Chrysler Pacifica will offer AWD capability. We know there is demand for AWD capability along with Stow ‘n Go seating, and the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica AWD Launch Edition allows us to get our customers the all-weather capability they want even sooner,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “The Pacifica offers families solutions and with the 2020 Pacifica AWD Launch Edition, we’re delivering the most advanced system in its class, and one that engages without any driver input, to help owners get where they want to go in any type of weather.”

The AWD System Automatically Disconnects When Not Needed

The new ALL-Wheel-Drive system is seamlessly integrated into the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Launch Edition, so it will engage when needed and disconnect when it isn’t needed. The ability to automatically switch off the AWD system is exclusive in the minivan segment. That will make the improve the efficiency of the vehicle and should give an improvement on the fuel economy.

The Launch Edition Includes Larger Infotainment Screen

The 2020 Chrysler Pacifica AWD Launch Edition is exclusively available on the 2020 Pacifica Touring L model. The package also includes the addition of a larger 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, making it easier for the driver to access infotainment. Optional packages include Uconnect Navigation, Uconnect Theater, Advanced SafetyTec, a tri-pane panoramic sunroof, trailer tow, KeySense and a premium package. The AWD Launch Edition has a U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $40,240, excluding destination fees.

The 2020 Chrysler Pacifica AWD Launch Edition is equipped with the same AWD system that will be offered on the redesigned 2021 Chrysler Pacifica. The 2021 model will also be available later this year.
