If you look at how it started -vs- how it is going with Tesla charging, you can see that Tesla is flooding the world with charging stations.

Tesla Charging: How It Started

Take a look at this Tweet from Tesla's own account. You can see the staggering different from where Tesla began to where it is now. Tesla began with just a few charging stations in California for new EV owners:

Tesla is going to one day flood the world with Superchargers. But, it started with just a few in California. You can see 6 Supercharger stations from Sacramento to Los Angeles, California. These were all built a decade ago when Tesla was selling its first EVs.

Tesla got a head start on charging with these 6 Superchargers, back when nobody thought that an EV is a good idea. But, Tesla knew better than that and those who were paying attention closely saw that an EV had very little maintenance required and, over its lifetime, was better for the environment than a gas car.

In March 2014, Tesla Supercharging looked like so - and it created charging stations across the entire United States:

Tesla Charging: How It's Going

Today, Tesla has Supercharger stations that are starting to cover the world. It's not quite at the point the world is covered with charging, but it is getting there. For instance, the United States is covered in charging, with the East and West coasts containing most of the charging stations.

As time goes on, Tesla will build more charging stations in the middle of the United States as more and more people own a Tesla. I think that Tesla has the data to make the decision of where to put new Superchargers based on owners of its vehicles and usage statistics like where people are driving.

You can also see that much of China, especially the East Coast and South Korea. South Korea has numerous charging stations that are "Destination Chargers" meaning they aren't fast charging, but you can charge there overnight.

Australia has charging stations, mainly on its Southeast coast, and as it starts to get more people driving a Tesla or using a Robotaxi, it will start to get more charging stations too. There may be some locations like Russia and North Korea that never get any charging stations, but eventually, the best product wins out, even in these countries. We'll see what happens there...

What do you think the future of Tesla Supercharging will be like? Will it flood the earth?
