Subaru wants you to be safe in their newly-redesigned vehicles like the Outback wagon. See how they go beyond all-wheel-drive to protect you.

When you pile into the family vehicle, you don’t want to worry about getting stuck in the snow and sitting on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck. Subaru builds some of the best all-wheel-drive vehicles that will get you safely back home where other cars will leave you stranded. Vehicles like the Subaru Outback, Forester, Crosstrek, and Ascent have extra ground clearance and can even get you deep into the backcountry.

You also want your family to be safe in the event of an accident. One of Subaru’s core values is safety and they go beyond all-wheel-drive to keep you protected. According to a report from Lawyers.com, Subaru has been sending out its own investigators to crash scenes for decades. Volvo was the first automaker to do it, and Subaru along with other car companies, including BMW and Honda, also use field investigators to inspect crash sites and utilize the information to improve their vehicles’ safety features.

Subaru of America (SOA), the brand’s number one market, sells approximately 60 percent of Subaru’s global vehicles. and the Camden, N.J. automaker uses crash-scene investigators to gather information to help improve its EyeSight drivers assist system that will help prevent accidents from occurring.

None of this technology is new, as Subaru Corporation began developing it in 1989 and started equipping its all-wheel-drive vehicles with EyeSight in 1999. To help improve technology, SOA is notified by its retail service team when an accident involves one of its vehicles. After several inspections were performed by a team of field investigators and vendors, Subaru developed its EyeSight safety technology that includes automatic braking, which is now standard on most models.

The 2020 Subaru Outback, Forester, Ascent, and Crosstrek with a CVT transmission, all come standard with the safety technology. EyeSight’s automatic braking will stop the car if you’re about to hit a car or pedestrian. It also comes with automatic steering to keep the car in its lane, and cruise control that adjusts to traffic.

Subaru says its goal is to be the overall safety leader and prevent traffic accidents and they are aiming for zero accidents by automobiles in the future. To accomplish this ambitious goal, they use information from accidents to make improvements to the 2020 Subaru Outback, Forester, Crosstrek, and Ascent models to prevent serious car accidents and life-threatening injuries.
