What changes were made to the 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness? Here is the new Outback Wilderness trim level, features, and pricing guide.

Subaru of America (SOA) announced that the 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness trim level has more improvements than the previous model. In addition, Subaru USA also announced pricing for the more rugged midsize SUV.

Here are the 2024 Outback Wilderness improvements and the one new upgrade that customers will like the best, and it's better than the contemporary exterior styling.

Outback Wilderness upgrades

For 2024, the Outback Wilderness now receives a more rugged look thanks to a new front fascia featuring a redesigned bumper and LED fog lights paired with a more prominent front grille. These exterior upgrades bring the Wilderness trim up to what the 2023 Outback received one year ago. So now the Wilderness trim level looks like the rest of the Outback lineup. Again, it's a great look, but another upgrade is even better.

Customers have requested one significant Wilderness improvement from SOA since the Outback was redesigned in 2022. Finally, the Outback Wilderness finally gets a 360-degree heated steering wheel. It's now standard on the recently-updated 2024 Outback Wilderness.

The rugged Wilderness trim level builds off the Onyx Edition XT, including the 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer engine. It also features a Hands-Free Power Gate, 180-Degree Front View Monitor, and a full-size matching spare tire. In addition, the Outback Wilderness is equipped with dual-function X-Mode with exclusive low speed/low gradient control, Yokohama Geolander all-terrain tires, and unique exterior and interior accents.

Subaru says the tuned suspension gives Outback Wilderness outstanding stability on rough terrain while retaining ride comfort and handling performance on the open road. In addition, the front and rear shock absorbers and springs have increased length to provide more suspension travel with 9.5 inches of ground clearance.

How much will the Wilderness trim level tow? The Outback Wilderness has a max 3,500 lb tow rating. The standard 2.5-liter engine model has a 2,700 lb tow rating.

What is the 2024 Wilderness fuel mileage?

The EPA says the Outback Wilderness gets an estimated 21/26 city/highway mpg and 23 combined mpg.

An option package with a Power Moonroof, Starlink 11.6-inch Multimedia Navigation system, and Reverse Automatic Braking is available for an MSRP of $1,845.

What is the price of the 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness?

For the 2024 model year, the Outback will be available in nine trim levels. The Base is priced at $30,190, Premium ($32,490), Onyx Edition ($37,400), Limited ($37,090), Touring ($41,640), Onyx Edition XT ($40,655), Wilderness ($41,255), Limited XT ($41,490), and Touring XT ($44,090). In addition, destination and delivery fees are included in the price above ($1,295).
