The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek will begin arriving at Subaru showrooms this summer, but which trim level is the best? Check out the trim guide here.

The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek subcompact SUV arrives with a price increase and a new special edition model. There are now six trim levels to choose from, but which model is the best for customers? There is one model that offers the best value, one that is best for outdoor enthusiasts, and one you should avoid.

How much did the Subaru Crosstrek price increase for the 2023 model year?

All 2023 Subaru Crosstrek trim levels get a $600 price increase, including destination and delivery fees. Dealer fees increased by $50 for 2023 Crosstrek trims.

The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek comes in six trim levels for U.S. customers. The base trim is priced from $24,870, Premium, ($26,020), Special Edition ($27,970), Sport ($29,220), Limited ($30,720) and Crosstrek Hybrid ($38.070). Prices include destination and delivery fees ($1,225).

Which trim level is the best value?

The Crosstrek Premium trim is a good value for subcompact SUV shoppers. The Crosstrek Premium comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter handle, fog lights, an all-weather package with heated front seats, Starlink safety and security, and an available 6-way power-adjustable driver's seat.

Which Crosstrek trim level should you avoid?

The base Subaru Crosstrek trim level is attractively priced and is $1,150 less than the Premium trim level. The base models come with Subaru's Symmetrical all-wheel-drive, standard EyeSight safety technology, Starlink multimedia, and 8.7-inches of ground clearance. Here's why few buyers ever buy one.

Subaru sells very few Crosstrek base trim levels for a reason. The base trims only offer 17-inch steel wheels, and features like a power driver's seat, heated seats and mirrors, keyless access, and push-button start are not included.

Which Crosstrek is best for outdoor enthusiasts?

Customers with active lifestyles will want the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Sport trim level. Like all trims, the Sport comes with standard Subaru Symmetrical all-wheel-drive and 8.7-inches of ground clearance. But the Sport trim comes with Subaru's new dual-function X-Mode for additional off-road capability. Sport also comes with a larger 2.5-liter engine.

The Sport's 2.5-liter engine produces 30 additional horsepower over the standard 2.0-liter engine and is a must for carrying extra gear up a mountain pass. The 2.5-liter also gets one mpg better highway fuel mileage.

The Crosstrek Sport also comes with StarTex water-repellent upholstery that's not available on any other trim level. Like the Premium trim, the Sport comes with a power driver's seat, heated seats and mirrors, keyless access, and push-button start.

What is the 2023 Crosstrek fuel mileage?

The 2.0-liter CVT models achieve EPA-estimated fuel economy of 28/33 city/highway and 30 combined mpg. The 2.0-liter 6-speed manual models are rated 22/29 city/highway and 25 combined mpg. The 2.5-liter Boxer engine in the Sport and Limited trims achieves an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 27/34 city/highway and 29 combined mpg.
