The 2013 Chrysler Glacier is a special edition, all-wheel drive luxury car with attitude and style. Offering a frugal V6 or a HEMI V8, this special edition is the ultimate snowboard weekend sedan.

Fans of winter driving comfort can now enjoy the new 2013 Chrysler 300 Glacier. Whether the trip is to the snowboard park, the hockey rink, the curling tourney, or just to work, this new vehicle is designed to make the ride safe, comfortable, and enjoyable.

A great winter driving car like the 2013 Chrysler 300 Glacier needs some equipment not typically found on a luxury car. Most important is the all-wheel drive system. Tires can always be upgraded easily, but the driven wheels can’t. For this reason the 300 Glacier starts with a state of the art all-wheel drive system. Unlike almost many other all-wheel drive systems, the Chrysler 300 starts with rear-wheel drive. Thus the handling of the car starts out great, with lessened understear tendencies. In order to preserve fuel when the conditions are dry, the 300 Glacier’s system can decouple the front transfer case. That means that the system is part-time AWD, which is a very good thing for fuel economy.

On the subject of fuel economy, the Chrysler 300 Glacier comes with a powerful, 300 horsepower Pentastar V6 that is also quite frugal. For those who prefer raw power and the thrill of a firm shove back in the seat when taking on ramps, the Chrysler 300 Glacier is also offered with the 5.7 HEMI engine. This combination offers a rare AWD, V8 combination in a full size car. Only a few other cars in the world offer this combination and they are mostly from Germany.

The result of this innovative AWD system and modern V6 is that the 300 Glacier achieves top fuel economy ratings for its class. At 27 highway mpg, this full sized, luxury car will not be burning excess fuel getting to the resort. The V8 economy drops to 23 mpg highway, but that should be compared to the full size sport utility vehicles around it in traffic for a fair fuel economy comparison.

The Chrysler 300 Glacier is also a looker. All 300 models exude confidence and attitude, but the 300 Glacier has that and more. With its gloss black mirrors and black chrome grill treatment the Glacier sets itself apart from other 300 models. Even the roof can come gloss black. The optional Satin carbon wheels offer a great alternative to the now aging chrome look many cars in this class offer. Inside Chrysler was gutsy enough to even offer cloth seat centers, which every winter driver knows are warmer than leather in the cold. Of course the seats are trimmed in leather with French stitching. This is after all a special edition 300. The black leather wrapped steering wheel and the piano black interior trim mark this Glacier as an exclusive car in an exclusive class.

The 2013 Chrysler 300 Glacier is available now. As I type it is 4 degrees and snow is in the forecast.
