With more images leaking out of Korea, it appears the 2015 Hyundai Sonata is going to be more of a mini-me 2015 Hyundai Genesis, which can only be a good thing.

Automobile Magazine has released spy shots of the interior of the upcoming Sonata that debuts at the end of the month in Korea and then later in April at the New York Auto Show.

According to Automobile, the interior of the 2015 Hyundai Sonata will adopt more horizontal control arrangements. The dual-zone climate control now has its own display screen and resides lower on the center stack, while the audio system controls have moved entirely to the top of the dashboard. The teaser showed a car with a full touchscreen infotainment system, but this prototype car has a simpler radio without navigation.

As reported prior by TorqueNews.com, "[The comparison] seems to be true with similar details like the steering wheel, large monitor and prominent HVAC vents. Both also seem to share similar interior door designs."

Another TorqueNews.com article also looked at the exterior similarities between the two sedans. The article said, "It looks like Hyundai is introducing a smaller version of the Genesis with the 2015 Sonata. That's not a bad thing because the Genesis is a good looking car inside. Also, as pointed out … the Sonata is not a carbon copy of the Genesis on the exterior, which is a good thing because the look wouldn’t work on a smaller car."

When it comes down to it, you have two sedans that are going to be bear strong sibling resemblances on the exterior with largely shared DNA for the interior. From the released images it appears Hyundai has succeeded with right-sized proportions for the smaller sedan.

What do you think? Has Hyundai created a mini-me version of the Genesis with the new Sonata? Time will tell when the model debuts later this month. We will keep you posted on all the latest news on the two models.
