Is Tri-motor Cybertruck Pricing Set? Reservation Holder Says Tesla Contacted Him

We have word that Tesla contacted someone about their tri-motor Tesla Cybertruck reservation, asking if they wanted to move forward with their purchase and what it will cost.

Tesla Cybertruck Reservation Holder Contacted

On X, there are multiple reports that a Cybertruck reservation holder got contacted by a Tesla representative. This has happened in the past, however, there have also been times that it was reported, and it was false, so take this with a grain of salt.

If what this reservation holder is saying is true, then I would expect the tri-motor Cybertruck to have upwards of 500 miles of range. The reason I would expect this is that if the cost is $98,990, that is about the cost of a Model S Plaid, meaning the Cybertruck is that kind of vehicle - a long range and high performance vehicle.

I don't know if Tesla is trying to confirm Tesla Cybertruck reservation holders, unless it is the first 100 or so for the Cybertruck delivery event. That would make sense to me because they want to make sure the initial batch of Cybertrucks actually get delivered. I can get on board with that being the truth.

But, I don't see Tesla going beyond this for a representative to send out an email because it doesn't make sense beyond that. Tesla has over 1 million Cybertruck reservations, so I think they are just trying to make sure the delivery event goes smoothly without any issue.

Final Specs of the Cybertruck

When I've thought about the final specs of the Cybertruck, I've said that the dual-motor would be in the low to mid 300-mile range and the tri-motor would be in the low 400-mile range. There is a chance, it seems, that I could be low on this estimate.

If the cost of a tri-motor Cybertruck is around the cost of a Model S Plaid, then I would have to believe that the specs are at or exceed that vehicle as well.

Tesla has been super secretive about the cost of the Cybertruck, along with the final specs because I think they want it to be a surprise to everyone. If people know beforehand, they might cancel their reservation.

Look for the specs to be revealed on November 30th at the Cybertruck delivery event. I don't see this happening anytime before that, however.

If it really is that high, they will lose a considerable amount of reservations, my guesstimate would be 30-50 % easily. It also depends what the specs are for the dual motor and it's price. I would still get the dual motor if it's in the 75k price range, any higher and I will probably pass on it, even though I have been waiting for 1 for 4 years already.
