Tesla’s Chief Designer Highlights “Cybertruck Towing 3000 lbs Vanderhall - Brawley to the Sand Dunes With a Real Truck Guy”

Tesla’s Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen has highlighted a new Cybertruck review video by a “real truck guy”. The video shows the Cybertruck hauling a 3000 lbs Vanderhall Brawley and tackling sand dunes.

The Cybertruck is starting to get into more and more customers’ hands. This is wonderful because it means various Cybertruck tests in unique settings.

Since the Cybertruck started customer deliveries, we’ve seen Jay Leno take the truck rock crawling and water fording. We’ve also seen the Cybertruck going head-to-head in a quarter-mile drag race against a Ford F-150 Raptor R, Hummer EV, and Rivian R1T.

We’ve also seen the Cybertruck in various wraps. A gloss black Cybertruck wrap keeps the Cybertruck’s shiny surface but in black whereas a white Cybertruck wrap has been declared by the internet as the worst color for the all-electric truck.

During customer reviews, we’ve also uncovered some hidden Cybertruck features such as an interior-facing radar that is used to detect seat occupancy.

Everything we’ve learned so far about the Cybertruck has been exciting. However, a new Cybertruck customer review released a few hours ago might have all previous Cybertruck reviews beat.

When discussing the Cybertruck there is a lot to unpack including the truck’s many unique features, incredible specs, and controversial design. However, more than everything, the Cybertruck is Tesla’s first entrance into the truck and off-roading vehicle market.

So how do real truckers and off-roaders feel about the Cybertruck? A new video titled “Cybertruck towing 3000lbs with a real truck guy” answers this question.

The video was shot and produced by an upstart YouTube channel called Minimal Duck. The channel only has around 2500 subscribers however, the production value of his videos is on par with channels with millions of subscribers.

In the video, the YouTuber rather than driving the Cybertruck himself and giving his impressions admits that the Cybertruck is the first time he has ever driven a truck and in the spirit of doing the best review, he hands it over to his buddy who is a real truck guy.

The person in the driver's seat owns and currently drives a Ford F-350. The guy also reveals that he does a lot of long-distance hauling and even states that at some point he has hauled more than a million dollars worth of horses at once.

So what does this experienced trucker think about the Cybertruck? In the video, the Cybertrucker is towing a 3000 lbs electric off-roading vehicle, the Vanderhall Brawley.

The trucker is impressed by the Cybertruck’s power and acceleration. Despite towing a 3000 lbs vehicle, the Cybertruck appears to handle the extra weight and air resistance as if it didn’t exist.

The driver also makes note of the Cybertruck’s adaptive regen. While towing, the Cybertruck automatically adapts the regen for the added weight resulting in the pedal feel remaining the same at different weights.

After the towing test, the trucker then tackles an off-road condition in the form of sand dunes. The Cybertruck together with the 3 Vanderhall brawleys is seen reaping through the sand as if it were pavement.

Overall, the truck guy concludes that he will consider getting a Cybertruck as his next truck and says that the Cybertruck is a highly capable truck.

The production quality and content of the video are entertaining and informative, I highly recommend you watch the video in its entirety and perhaps consider giving Minimal Duck a follow.

Another person who agrees with this sentiment is Tesla’s Chief Designer, and the brains behind Cybertruck’s unique design, Franz von Holzhausen. Franz highlights this video by sharing it through his X page.

Currently, this is all the information we’ve regarding the Cybertruck’s reception among truck guys, however, we’ll be sure to keep you posted as we get more feedback. Until then, make sure to visit our site torquenews.com/Tesla regularly for the latest updates.

So what do you think? Surprised to see the overwhelmingly positive reception the Cybertruck got from the truck guy? Also, do you think the Cybertruck will be embraced by the trucking world at large? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
