Tesla Spotted With A Large Film Crew Shooting a New RC Cybertruck Video Using a Range Rover

Tesla has been spotted with a large filming crew shooting a new video of a release candidate Cybertruck sliding on a glacier in Iceland. Tesla is utilizing a Range Rover to film in the challenging icy conditions.

In the past few weeks, Tesla has been ramping up Cybertruck production. Tesla produced the first Cybertruck at Giga Texas only last month however, since that time, thanks to drone flyovers, we’ve confirmation that the EV maker has built at least 20 release candidate Cybertrucks.

We’ve also seen the same release candidate Cybertrucks getting transported across the United States and being ferried away by plane halfway around the world.

Several Cybertruck prototypes have made it to New Zealand for towing and winter testing. We’ve also seen nine Cybertruck prototypes arrive at Tesla’s Fremont, California plant. Three more Cybertruck release candidates have been spotted heading north for a potential EPA efficiency and range test at The National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory (NVFEL), located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The flurry of Cybertruck activity has all of us on our feet trying to figure out when Tesla will deliver the first Cybertruck. And today, thanks to some keen-eyed Tesla observers, we see that Tesla is making final preparation before the EV maker officially hands over the first Cybertrucks to customers.

This suggests Tesla has brought the Cybertruck to Iceland not only for winter testing but to also shoot a new Cybertruck video where the truck is sliding on Ice. The footage is likely a new promotional video that will be released during Cybertruck’s delivery event.

Another interesting thing about the new Cybertruck footage is the fact that Tesla is using a Range Rover rather than a Tesla to film the Cybertruck in the challenging icy conditions.

The Range Rover is known for being one of the most durable vehicles in the world. And once the Cybertruck starts deliveries, the Range Rover will likely be a direct competition for the futuristic truck especially amongst individuals cross-shopping off-road capable vehicles.

Given its stainless steel exoskeleton, independent torque vectoring, and instantaneously responding electric motors, I personally expect the Cybertruck to win over Range Rover buyers, however, until the day comes when the Cybertruck is able to directly compete against the Range Rover, it appears as though Tesla will need to rely on its internal combustion engine counterpart for at least a little bit longer.

Despite this one point, it’s nonetheless exciting to see Tesla shooting a new Cybertruck footage. And suggests that Tesla is really close to starting deliveries.

Currently, the official plan for Tesla is to start the first Cybertruck deliveries towards the end of Q3 which will be around the end of September. However, Tesla hasn’t said anything about that timeline for a while now and the general expectation in the Tesla community is that the first deliveries have slipped to the last quarter of the year.

Whatever the case, we will be sure to keep you posted as Tesla progresses toward its first Cybertruck delivery. Until then, make sure to visit our site torquenews.com/Tesla regularly for the latest updates.

So what do you think? Excited to see Tesla filming a new Cybertruck promotional video in Iceland? Also, are you disappointed that Tesla is relying on a Range Rover to film the Cybertruck? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
