Tesla Cybertruck Put to Work Hauling 10,000 lbs of Recycled Nickel and Lithium – Cybertruck Transporting Same Materials That It is Made Out Of

A Tesla Cybertruck has been spotted hauling 10,000 lbs of recycled Nickel and Lithium at Redwood Materials’ facility in Nevada. In addition to doing real work, the Cybertruck was transporting the same components the truck is made out of.

The Cybertruck, despite its outstanding off-road capabilities and never-before-seen durability, is still criticized as a vehicle for suburbanites on the coasts.

Going simply by the numbers, the Cybertruck has the highest ground clearance of any vehicle in its segment, with 17.4 inches of ground clearance and 12 inches of air suspension travel.

Add to this the Cybertruck’s bulletproof exoskeleton and more practically dent-proof and weatherproof exterior, and you would be hard-pressed to find evidence in support of the Cybertruck’s detractors.

Having said that, since the Cybertruck came out last November, we’ve seen that new owners are more likely to take their all-electric truck to the race track rather than use the vehicle for off-roading or to accomplish a task on the job site.

Most Cybertruck owners have even decided to wrap their new trucks in beautiful yet flimsy exteriors, handicapping the truck’s durability.

From what we’ve seen from early Cybertruck buyers, we were starting to agree the Cybertruck detractors who called the vehicle a show-off piece for celebrities have a point.

However, as more and more trucks started to be delivered, we are starting to see the Cybertruck being utilized to the full extent of its amazing specs.

Redwood Materials recently highlighted one such Cybertruck use case. If you happen to be unfamiliar with it, Redwood Materials is a company started by Tesla co-founder and longtime CTO JB Straubel.

Redwood Materials is still in the early stages of setting up its operations but plans to be the largest battery recycling company in North America.

Redwood Materials already has a battery recycling plant in Nevada near Tesla’s Reno Plant. The company recently showed off the Cybertruck in action in this factory.

Redwood Materials shared Cybertruck’s activities inside the company’s premises on X writing…

Cybertruck, quite literally, driving circularity!

We had some fun putting the Cybertruck to work hauling 10,000 lbs of recycled nickel and lithium products from our NV Battery Materials Campus. Our team is inventing and building the US battery supply chain one process and machine at a time. We’re working at start-up speed to build massive industrial facilities, all with a fundamental dedication to sustainability - come join us!

What’s exciting here is that Redwood Materials is demonstrating that the Cybertruck is a capable truck that can haul 10,000 lbs of recycled Nickel and Lithium.

Second, the Cybertruck’s 4680 batteries are made up of nickel and lithium, and the Cybertruck is carrying the same components that make up the truck.

This is what Redwood Materials meant by “Cybertruck literally driving circularity,” and we couldn’t be happier to see the truck being used in this fashion.

This is all the information we’ve regarding the Cybertruck; however, we’ll be sure to keep you posted when we learn more about how people choose to employ the truck.

Until then, make sure to visit our site, torquenews.com/Tesla, regularly for the latest updates.

So what do you think? Are you happy to see the Cybertruck being utilized to do real work? Also, what do you make of Cybertruck carrying the same components that the vehicle is made out of? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
