A Record 140 Tesla Cybertrucks Seen Parked Together – Suggests Tesla has Reached a Production Run Rate of 50,000 Cybertrucks Per Year

A new drone flyover of Tesla’s Texas factory shows the plant teaming with Cybertrucks. The record 140 Cybertrucks that were spotted suggests that Tesla has achieved a production run rate of 50,000 Cybertrucks per year.

As of writing, one of the biggest mysteries regarding Tesla’s business is the company’s execution when it comes to the Cybertruck production ramp.

Not only do we not know how the Cybertruck production ramp is going, but Tesla hasn’t even given any short-term guidelines on what type of numbers to expect when it comes to Cybertruck production.

The only information we’ve so far is that Tesla has already sold out Cybertruck production for the rest of 2024.

Given some key details, this is either a wonderful or a terrible piece of news. If Tesla expects to ramp up Cybertruck production quickly, then selling out the all-electric truck for the rest of the year means high demand.

On the other hand, if Tesla expects the Cybertruck production to be slow, then selling out for the rest of the year means a tougher-than-expected production ramp.

As of now, it is hard to state one way or the other definitively. However, there is a reason to be hopeful thanks to Joe Tegtmeyer’s recent Giga Texas drone flyover.

During his recent flyover of Tesla’s Texas factory, Joe was able to spot a record 140 Cybertrucks ready to be delivered to customers.

Seeing these many Cybertrucks all at once is already unreal; however, what’s even more interesting is what we can extrapolate from the scene.

Throughout the day at Giga Texas, Cybertrucks are loaded on semi-trucks and shipped across the US whereas new Cybertrucks hot off the production line are also getting added to the Giga Texas parking lot.

This means there is no way to definitively state how many Cybertrucks have been produced in a single day. However, if we take the 140 number at face value and say that’s the number of Cybertrucks Tesla is able to produce in a day, then the production ramp might be going better than hoped.

One hundred forty Cybertrucks per day; when you do the math comes out to a production run rate of over 50,000 Cybertrucks per year.

If the EV maker reaches this kind of run rate early in the year, it means that throughout 2024, we can expect tens of thousands of Cybertrucks to hit the streets.

Long term, Tesla has said that the company is targeting an annual production run rate of 250,000 Cybertrucks. And although recent numbers are still far from reaching those levels, it’s wonderful to see Tesla progressing strongly toward the company’s goal.
