Subaru Brings the 2017 WRX STI to South Wales

For our UK readers, you can now buy a new 2017 Subaru WRX STI in South Wales. Subaru announced they will open a new dealership to sell their full range of all-wheel-drive vehicles. Subaru UK has appointed a new dealer, James and Jenkins in Cardiff, who will bring the WRX STI and other Subaru vehicles to the area.

James and Jenkins has been a familiar fixture on Station Road in Llandaff North, Cardiff offering other brands. Now they are home to Subaru’s performance flagship model, the WRX STI, recently upgraded Forester SUV, the popular Outback estate, XV compact crossover, Levorg sports tourer and BRZ sports car.

It started with WRC

The Subaru WRX STI has been popular in South Wales ever since Colin McRae dominated the World Rally Cross (WRC) rally stages in 1995 with his 555 Subaru Impreza. Rally racing was the spark Subaru needed that led to the evolution of the STI production performance cars. Colin McRae started the evolution of the Subaru WRX STI cars that sit in enthusiast’s driveways today.

David Higgins, who was born on the Isle of Man, is a local favorite who has dominated rally stages in the WRX STI. Last year, Higgins and Drew dominated the Rally GB in the UK in the new-generation Subaru WRX STI. The cars livery honored the late Colin McRae. His brother Mark Higgins, broke the Isle of Man TT record in the Time Attack Subaru WRX STI earlier this year.
