Introducing the eagerly-awaited 2015 WRX STI Super Production Rally Car

Rally fans have been waiting all year to see the new 2015 Subaru WRX STI Super Production Rally Car and it’s finally here. It’s been at the Vermont SportsCar shop getting prepped for action since April. The new STI Super Production Rally Car made its first public appearance yesterday (Friday) at the Lake Superior Performance Rally in Houghton, Michigan. The SRT USA Rally Team is there to compete in the last rally race of the season. Will this Super Production 2015 WRX STI be a production model?

2015 WRX STI won’t be competing this weekend

David Higgins and Travis Pastrana are there driving the 2014 Subaru WRX STI rally cars that they have been competing in all season. Subaru chose to keep the new-generation 2015 WRX STI in the shop getting prepped for rally action and it looks like it won’t be seeing rally action until next season. Fans thought they might see the performance car in action this season, but SRT USA wrapped up the Rally America Championship with the 2014 STI rally car driven by David Higgins. Subaru says the new 2015 WRX STI won’t be competing this weekend.

The 2015 STI is ready for rally racing

The 2015 WRX STI Super Production Rally Car looks likes its ready for high speed and precision on gravel roads. The new 2015 WRX STI rally car is painted white and gets a few decals but it’s not been fully prepped in full SRT USA race livery. SRT USA says the new STI is ready to go underneath and Vermont SportsCar has the performance car ready with full safety equipment, skid plate protection along with upgraded suspension and performance.

Will Subaru release this car for purchase?

As always, Subaru is very secretive about everything they do and they won’t release any information until they are ready. But they hint that this car is prepped and that it “will satisfy the most discerning of drivers.” Subaru says the new 2015 Subaru WRX STI Super Production Rally Car builds on the already stunning performance of the new 2015 Subaru WRX STI and this model built by Vermont SportsCar will “take this monster to a new level.”

What we do know is that SRT USA will be racing the new 2015 Subaru WRX STI rally car in the Rally America Championship series next season. What we don’t know is if Subaru will offer this new 2015 WRX STI Super Production Rally Car for purchase as a limited edition model for performance enthusiasts.
