2014 Mercedes CLA 45 AMG vs A 45 AMG who wins?

The new 2014 Mercedes CLA 45 AMG and A 45 AMG are cut from the same cloth but how do they compare on the track? Mercedes-Benz reporter, Torie Campbell takes them out on the Bilster Berg race track in Germany in the video below and gives a report. Mercedes has ventured into the compact class to attract a new generation of buyers. Now AMG has done their magic on both cars to attract a new generation of performance enthusiasts. How do they compare on the track?

It’s hard to compare the two new premium compact cars from AMG because they both come powered by the world's most powerful four-cylinder engine built in series production. The 2.0-liter turbocharged hand-built AMG engine produces an amazing 360 horsepower and 332 lb ft of torque. Mercedes says both the new CLA 45 AMG and a 45 AMG will sprint from 0-62 mph in 4.6 seconds. And Both hav an electronically limited top speed of 250 Km/h. So where is the difference between the two high-performance cars?

Mercedes-Benz reporter, Torie Campbell interviewed Marco Witzel chief of development on the A-Class and CLA-Class Mercedes-AMG said, when asked about the driving dynamics of the A 45 AMG said, “Looking at the driving dynamics of the car, you can really push the cars with out being the most experienced driver, the car is really a peaceful car. You push it, push it, push it. It’s a fun everyday driver."

Torie then asked Witzel, what he would say the main differences are between the CLA45 AMG and A 45 AMG. "The A 45 is the more aggressive car, the CLA is the more stylish, but is still a performance car. The A45 has a different exhaust system in the car than on the standard models. We spent a lot of time figuring out what was the perfect sound for the AMG car, and it really packs a punch."

The CLA-Class and A-Class establishes a new segment for the German automaker and they expect to attract a new generation of performance enthusiasts with the cars. The AMG power and torque give both cars superb driving performance.

The new 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG and A 45 AMG high-performance cars are the best in their class. But it sounds like the A 45 AMG may be smaller but is a bit more mischievous. Whichever one you choose, you will get an amazing driving experience.
