The 2012 Ford F150 Harley Davidson is unveiled

The world famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally began yesterday and Ford Motor Company used the legendary bike show to introduce the 2012 Ford F150 Harley Davidson Edition.

The 2012 Ford F150 Harley Davidson Edition follows in the great tradition of the relationship between America’s bestselling truck and America’s bestselling motorcycle with a heavy dose of Harley Davidson badging inside and out. The Harley Davidson chrome lettering runs down the bedside, with Harley logos on the unique fender badging as well as on the 22” aluminum wheels – which are new for 2012. Like the 2011 F150 HD special edition models, the 2012 Harley F150 features a bright chrome grille, unique lower front fascia, a polished exhaust tip and body colored bumpers and door handles. New for 2012 (in addition to the gorgeous new wheels) is a textured flame decal with a snakeskin finish running along both sides of the truck. The 2012 HD F150 is available only in Super Crew configuration with the 5.5 foot Styleside bed and along with the Tuxedo Black paint option that returns from the 2011 models; Ford has added a new paint option in White Platinum Tri-Coat.

Inside, the 2012 Ford F150 Harley Davidson Edition begins with a premium level interior finish with leather everywhere – adding more snakeskin to the upper portion of the front and rear bucket seats clad in the Harley Davidson logo. The center console cover also wears a massive Harley logo along with the VIN and serial number of this new limited edition truck inlaid on more snakeskin. Other than the snakeskin highlights and the bright silver logos/trim, the entire interior of the 2012 Ford F150 Harley Davidson Edition is finished in black.

The 2012 Ford F150 Harley Davidson Edition is powered by the same SVT-developed 6.2L V8 as the mighty SVT Raptor off-road performance truck. This engine churns out 411 horsepower and a whopping 434lb-ft of torque – making it the most powerful gasoline engine in the F-Series lineup and allowing this premium edition F150 to tow 7,500 pounds. The power is sent to the wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmissions with a standard Tow/Haul mode and Ford’s SelectShift Automatic program that allows the driver full shifting control. Rear wheel drive is standard but Ford does offer 4WD for those who want more capabilities out of their Harley Davidson F150.

Ford’s announcement of the 2012 F150 Harley Davidson Edition did not include pricing details but with new features added over what was standard in 2011, we can expect the HD F150 to maintain its place atop the pricing charts for the 2012 F150 lineup. The 2011 models started at $48,505 for RWD and $51,770 for 4WD so we can expect the price to be in that range with the actual prices to be available closer to the release date of the new Harley Davidson Edition Ford F150.
