The Champion King of the Road contest involves submitting images and background information on your car to a social media driven contest with the most popular entries winning $500 weekly.

Of course the true King of the Road is here on Torque News already – in the form of Irv Gordon, who drove his 1966 Volvo P1800 3 million miles.

Nevertheless, with nowhere near that many miles your car can still make you a King of the Road thanks to Federal-Mogul and Champion. You probably know Champion by its line of spark plugs, filters and automotive additives.

Interested contestants must submit one or more digital images plus delightful back-stories about their vehicle via the King of the Road link at AlwaysaChampion.com.

Registered members of Champion’s online community will vote each week, determining the winner of 10 weekly prizes of $500. Each weekly winner will automatically be entered into the $5,000 grand-prize round.

Everyone can vote in the contest as well as other promotions by registering on the brand's website. There is no cost to join the fun.

First-round voting begins June 24 and the first King of the Road weekly Champion will be announced July 1.

"We've already heard from members of the Champion community who are excited for this contest to begin," said Jessica Wynn, brand strategy manager, Federal-Mogul. "As one of the world's most recognized and trusted brands, it's only appropriate that Champion help celebrate consumers whose passion for performance drives the growth of the motor vehicle industry."

So get your pictures and your car tales together and maybe you can score a few bucks to finance that summer road trip you been contemplating.

We’re thinking fellow Torque News contributor David Herron, who has a Karmann Ghia he converted to pure electric power, could be a King of the Road himself.
