Surf City discovers refreshed 2015 Honda CR-V

Work for Torque News, follow on Twitter, Youtube and Facebook.

We’ll be driving the tech- updated and design refreshed 2015 Honda CR-V through the streets of Huntington Beach,Ca. Surf City U.S.A. will be the first to witness Honda’s latest offering. Cool? we think so.

Honda is taking an “ if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it” approach to CR-V. The best selling small SUV in North America won’t see any major design change for 2015. What Honda design has done here is finess a vehicle design that took a major redirection in 2012. You’ll like the grill and headlight massage, bumper treatment, Civic Si type fog light, cowling placement and directional integrated, retractable(we think) side mirrors. All good stuff!

Torque News reported on Honda’s “refresh” earlier in the week. We’re good with it and believe that CR-V fans will be pleased with the subtle exterior design changes evident in this brilliant utility, crossover, SUV. Are the changes significant enough to keep CR-V on top? We believe so.

What we’re looking for from Honda’s latest offering is a measurable increase in fuel economy, safety and connectability. Our guy at Honda assures us that we will not be disappointed, that we will immediately recognize and acknowledge measurable improvements. He’s not saying where.

Speculation indicates that 2015 CR-V will be standard equipped with Honda’s state of the art CVT transmission and " Earth Dreams” engine technology; could be. 2015 made in Mexico 2015 Fit is equipped with both, why not CR-V? Looking to early spy photos courtesy of Motor Trend, we note a change in the dashboard configuration of CR-V. Perhaps Honda has opted for split screen connectivity as featured in the Accord Hybrid, we don’t know. We’ll know Thursday, you’ll know Sept 30. Check in for updates as we the refreshed 4th generation Honda CR-V SUV.

Wow, we have been waiting for months for the 2015 CRV and we live in Huntington Beach. Too bad it's such a big city. I doubt we will see you.

Good morning Howard. Honda won't allow us to report on drive characterists or changes to the CR-V untill 2:00am morning on of Sept. 30. But I can tell you this, there is not another small SUV on the market that approaches CR-V for standard featured $ value. Nice day in the O.C.. Stay safe.
