Why Car Maintenance and Repair is So High Today, Says This Mechanic

Here’s an informative (if not scary) video from a mechanic about why car maintenance and repair are so high today…and why it will get even worse soon.

The People's Automotive Channel

According to a recently posted Scotty Kilmer YouTube channel---A.K.A. “the People's Automotive Channel” ---car owners have a lot to worry about when it comes to the cost of car maintenance and repair that while high today…is expected to get much worse in the near future.

Known for his flamboyant and irreverent delivery style, Scotty sometimes offers a more serious tone about what he sees going on in the automotive industry that he believes car owners need to be aware of.

In today’s article, Scotty is talking seriously about why car maintenance and repair is so high. In short, it’s because the automotive industry is following the money-making game plan Big Pharma relies on---patent rights that last years.

Scotty’s view is that through patent rights the automotive industry is creating a monopoly controlling your car ownership that involves planned obsolescence, aftermarket replacement parts, OEM parts that are not made by the car’s manufacturer, and your right to work on your car or have someone else do it.

The Video

The value of this video is that it reveals at least one interpretation of what we are seeing today as car owners and how it is adversely affecting us. And if you think that Scotty is getting a little too conspiratorial lately, look at some of the comments following the video and see what others have seen develop as well.

And finally…

What’s Your Take on the Costs of Owning a Car Today?

We would like to hear from you and what you think of the video and what Scotty has to say: Is he off the mark? Do you believe that the automotive industry has become another Evil Corp? Do you see a solution to this problem? All input is appreciated.
