It would be fun to take a shiny new 2019 Subaru WRX STI out and play in the dirt, and that’s what Subaru Canada let Brandon Semenuk and Martin Rowe do this summer. The took two identical WRX STIs, one Pure Red, the other WR Blue Pearl and raced them down and back up a Canada ski slope in wicked dry conditions.

You might remember Brandon Semenuk, a professional mountain bike freestyler, and rally driver. Semenuk a Canadian from Whistler, British Columbia, also owns a Subaru WRX STI and Crosstrek rally cars, so he knows a little bit about pushing hard and what an all-wheel-drive STI will do in the dirt on the rally stages.

When Semenuk heads to a ski resort in the summer, it’s usually with his mountain bike. Subaru wanted to see what the pro Rally driver could do with an AWD, turbocharged WRX STI on a dirty hill with dust in his face. Brandon Semenuk and Martin Rowe go head-to-head in a dual slalom in 2019 Subaru WRX STIs. Fastest two runs combined wins.
