The 2014 Subaru BRZ GT300 is the fastest car on the track and qualifies number one for the second time.

The official qualifying session for the fifth round of SUPER GT is finished and the 2014 Subaru BRX GT300 is the fastest car on the track again. This is the second time the BRZ GT300 has qualified first in its class. The race is held this weekend at Fuji Speedway and the BRZ team looks ready to attack and win this race. R and D Sport has a done a great job of preparing the #61 Subaru BRZ GT300 and drivers Kota Sasaki and Iguchi Takuto are ready to go.

The last race at Sports Land SUGO saw the BRZ race car qualify second and the rain soaked track slowed the BRZ down and they finished a disappointing 14th in the race. But the 2014 BRZ GT300 has proven its the fastest car when the track is dry. Can the BRZ win at Fuji Speedway this weekend?

BRZ GT300 qualifies number one

The race could be affected by the typhoon that has been influencing the weather. During qualifying, the Fuji Speedway was covered with clouds and the humidity was high in the morning. But dry conditions were seen throughout the day and the BRZ GT300 took advantage of the dry track to qualify number one.

BRZ is aerodynamic

It was the Subaru BRZ GT300 that was the fastest car with its good aerodynamics and down force helps this car be the fastest in the corners. Tatsumi Eiji STI general director said the chassis on the BRZ GT300 has been dialed in and it looks like the car has the ideal setup for the race. They also have figured out the ideal tire pressure to ensure them to be able to handle the high speeds on the dry track.

The pole position isn't new for BRZ

Last season, the 2013 Subaru BRZ GT300 race car snatched pole position five times in eight races and achieved a class win, so it was a successful first year for the BRZ two-door sports coupe. Subaru is committed to motorsport around the globe not just to win, but it also helps them develop the technology that we see in the production vehicles we drive everyday. They will gain valuable insights from the lessons learned through the grueling Nurburgring 24-Hour race in Germany with the 2015 WRX STI, and the new all-new 2014 BRZ GT300 that competes in the SUPER GT Series in Japan.

The 2014 Subaru BRZ GT300 will start the fifth round of SUPER GT at Fuji Speedway in the pole position for the second time this season. This car has proven it’s the fastest car on the track when the conditions are good. Stay tuned to Torque News for the latest Subaru BRZ race results.
