Subaru opens up ordering online for the 2017 Impreza. Here’s 11 things you may not know about the new-generation compact car.

The new 2017 Subaru Impreza is now open for online orders. The new-generation compact sedan and 5-Door hatch gets a number of new features, and here’s some you may not have read about.

Improved aerodynamics

The new Impreza will be more aerodynamic thanks to a few new features that make it more streamline. These new improvements should improve fuel mileage. Subaru says the new-gen models get an additional one mpg improvement over the outgoing car. It now comes with an active front grille shutter that opens and closes as needed to improve air flow. It also gets changes to the front bumper, fog light, door mirrors and roof moulding to reduce wind drag. The sedan body style gets a redesigned trunk spoiler. All will contribute to improved aerodynamic performance.

The new 2017 Impreza comes with improved visibility over the outgoing model. Subaru engineers also revamped the wiper blades which are now flatter and it gets redesigned windshield wiper fluid nozzles for better coverage.

New features inside

Inside, the remodeled Impreza comes with a new reshaped steering wheel that’s smaller in diameter. It’s strictly for aesthetics which gives it a sleeker more stylish look and feel. Other new features inside include revised front seats for added comfort, and the rear seats have been tweaked to ensure a flatter surface when the rear seats are folded flat.

The climate control in the new Impreza features a redesigned air conditioning system that ensures a constant temperature and improved airflow throughout the cabin. This will include the footwells, while the defroster system has been optimized for better coverage, improving visibility in cold conditions. It also comes with variable compressor technology improving fuel economy when the A/C system is on.

With a 95 percent makeover from the outgoing model, the new 2017 Subaru Impreza gets a long list of improvements.
