Meet Rachel The Lucky Owner Of A New Impreza, The 10-Millionth Subaru Sold In The US

Subaru reached a big milestone, the sale of its 10-millionth vehicle in the U.S., a 2019 Subaru Impreza. Meet Rachel the new lucky owner.

Subaru of America announced they have just sold its 10-millionth vehicle in the U.S. market. The small Japanese automaker has grown up and is no longer a small player in North America. The model delivered was a 2019 Subaru Impreza sold to Dr. Craig Harmon, a repeat Subaru customer who took delivery for his daughter, Rachel.

The new Impreza compact all-wheel-drive car was sold by Nate Wade Subaru in Salt Lake City, Utah, the oldest dealer in the US. Subaru of America was there for a ceremony to honor the dealer and make a big deal of selling its 10-millionth vehicle in the US.

Craig Harmon and his family have owned a combined total of seven Subaru vehicles now with the purchase of the 2019 Impreza. “My family and I drive Subaru vehicles for their proven history of safety and reliability and performance in inclement weather,” said Harmon. “We only have one problem with Subaru: The vehicles last too long!” Subaru did not reveal if they gave Rachel a discounted price on the new Impreza, but they should have.

The Subaru Impreza is made at the U.S. plant in Lafayette, Indiana where the 2020 Outback, Legacy, and all-new Ascent family hauler are also produced. 2017 model year Impreza sedan and 5-Door compact car production started in the U.S in 2016 when Subaru introduced the new-generation model.

“It took us 41 years to achieve our first five million sales, and just over 10 years to achieve the next five million,” said Thomas J. Doll, President, and CEO, Subaru of America.

What’s next for Impreza

If you are thinking of buying a new Impreza, the compact car is due for a refresh for the 2020 model change, and it’s coming with new improvements for customers. It gets new exterior and interior revisions as this is the fourth year of its model cycle since the fifth-generation Impreza was introduced in 2017.

It also comes with new safety tech and a few interior upgrades. For the 2020 model change, the 2020 Subaru Impreza compact will stay with standard all-wheel-drive and comes in sedan and 5-Door hatchback body styles.

The newly-refreshed 2020 Subaru Impreza will be making it’s U.S. dealer launch later this fall. Subaru will be announcing pricing and new feature details soon. Stay tuned.
