Canadian Subaru Forester Buyers are Really Going to Hate U.S. Families Right About Now

The 2018 Subaru Forester is ready to make its dealer launch in Canada and one special edition U.S. model won’t be making it up north.

The newly-refreshed 2018 Forester will be coming to Canadian showrooms soon, but one special edition model U.S. buyers get won’t be making it up north. The new Forester gets a minor refresh before its major overhaul next year with the new Subaru Global Platform. Canadians might be a little jealous of U.S. families because there’s no new 2018 Forester Black Edition for Canadian consumers. That’s reserved only for U.S. buyers, but there are improvements worth noting. So for 2018, it gets updated features and more safety technology.

All Forester trims now come with improved child seat anchors and updated seatbelt reminder warnings for improved passenger safety. Forester Limited navigation models with the the 7-inch infotainment system, come with the addition of new Starlink apps, including Yelp, Best Parking and Glympse for even more usability than before.

The sporty Forester 2.0XT turbo models are now equipped with a windshield wiper de-icer making it a better all-weather commuter for performance-oriented families. Customers will also have the choice of adding the optional EyeSight Package to the 2.0XT trim.

Here’s the Canadian 2018 Forester pricing. 2.5i 6MT $25,995, CVT $27,295, 2.5i Convenience CVT $29,195, 2.5i Touring 6MT $30,495, CVT $31,795, 2.5i Touring with optional EyeSight Package CVT$33,295, 2.5i Limited CVT $35,795, 2.5i Limited with optional EyeSight Package CVT $37,295, 2.0XT Touring CV $33,995, 2.0XT Touring with optional EyeSight Package CVT $35,495, 2.0XT Limited CVT $37,995, and 2.0XT Limited with optional EyeSight Package CVT $39,495. All prices do not include destination.

The newly-refreshed 2018 Subaru Forester gets a a number of updates and will begin arriving in Canadian showrooms this month. Canadian consumers won’t get the new Black Edition that will be offered in the US. Small SUV buyers who were hoping for the new Subaru Global Platform will also have to wait until next year when Forester will get a complete remodel.
