The all-new restyled 2014 Subaru Outback is already taking home awards and has just been honored as Car Guide's top crossover.

The all-new tougher-looking 2014 Subaru Outback was just barely been introduced last week and is already winning global awards. Subaru Cananda has announced that the new restyled Outback has been honored as Car Guide's top crossover. The 2014 Subaru Outback edged out 18 other contenders in Car Guide's annual Best Buys announcement and presentation. In the Crossovers under $50,000 category, Outback edged out 18 other contenders to take home the top award.

This isn’t the first time the popular Outback has won this award. This is the fifth consecutive year that it has won the category. Subaru is on a tear with many of their vehicles around the globe and especially in the U.S. and Canada. Their growth has been phenomenal and sales have been through the roof. The newly-styled Outback will certainly continue to fuel that growth.

Subaru Australia was the first to announce the new 2014 crossover that features new exterior styling and a more rugged all-wheel drive system. Outside, it gets a more rugged appearance with features like roof rails with integrated cross bars, side sills and cladding, wheel arch guards, front and rear under body guard protectors, front mud flaps, dark grey front grille, dark grey alloy wheels and new sporty headlights with a black background.

For 2014 , Subaru engineers also revised the Outback’s all-wheel drive system with improved precision in torque distribution between front and back wheels, refining handling and stability. Global buyers are drawn to the Outbacks crisp car-like handling but it also provides with the versatility of an all-wheel-drive SUV.

The standard Subaru symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive is what distinguishes Outback from many of its competitors. Shiro Ohta, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. said after receiving the award, "This knowledgeable group of journalists have pooled their impressions to determine winners. I'm thrilled that our 2014 Outback ranks first among its counterparts."

The 2014 Subaru Outback succeeds every year in this award because it meets Car Guides strict criteria in the categories of price, styling, fuel consumption, comfort, performance, maintenance costs, daily drivability, reliability and resale value among many others. Look for the new Outback to help continue to fuel Subaru’s success in 2014.
