Buy a Nissan LEAF, Get a Free Home Charger

Work for Torque News, follow on Twitter, Youtube and Facebook.

We knew that in some markets, you can buy an electric LEAF and get a free home charger. What we didn't know is that there were so many places where it's the norm.

There are several places around the country where you can buy a Nissan LEAF electric car and get a home charging unit free of charge. While we expected this to be the case in places like Southern California or Washington State, what we didn't know were that there were a lot more places than that. Many are surprising.

We spoke with Damian Herd, EV Business Development Manager at Nissan and she gave us the run-down.

This offer only runs until January 2 on new Nissan LEAF purchases or leases. It's in the following buyers' markets:

  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • Denver - Boulder
  • Houston
  • Dallas - Ft. Worth
  • AUSTIN
  • San Antonio
  • Los Angeles
  • Orlando
  • Raleigh - Durham
  • Salt Lake City
  • Washington, D.C.
  • Sacramento
  • Portland

The charger is valued at $900 and does not include installation. Those who have questions about this offer are asked to speak with their local Nissan dealership or can leave a message below, with an email or phone, and we'll direct you to someone in the know.

Bought a leaf this year (2014) in San Diego County, no mention of level 2 charger. Can anyone offer more information, could really benefit since the trickle charger barely gives me enough charge for my daily commute and must charge everyday at public stations and wait hours... Please help

I have recently leased the Nissan leaf from Singhlespring dealer. The program start date in Sacramento is Dec 2, 2014. Since I have purchased date is 2 days early. I am out of luck. The dealer is already turned me down. I am working with Nissan Consumer affairs. hope they have positive reply towards my incentive. hope this helps.
