While Richard Petty’s name is best associated with being a dominating force in the world of NASCAR racing, The King recently began offering high performance muscle cars and at the 2011 SEMA Show, Petty’s Garage launched their first Ford product in the form of the 2011 Ford Mustang GT Signature Series.

The 2012 Richard Petty Signature Series Ford Mustang GT began with the basic 5.0L powered pony car fitted with the Ford Racing supercharger package, stainless steel headers and a Borla exhaust system that hikes the output to a whopping 624 horsepower. All of this power is channeled to the ground via a proper 6-speed manual transmission and a set of 3.73 Ford Racing gears while a set of Continental DW Extreme tires wrapped around 19” Forgeline wheels help to make the most of this power.

Next, Petty’s boys fitted the 2012 Ford Mustang GT Signature Series with a Pedders suspension package featuring adjustable shocks and struts, high performance springs and sway bars, and Petty’s Garage designed front strut tower brace - all of which work in conjunction to make this one great handling modern muscle car. Helping this mighty Mustang to slow down is a premium Stop Tech braking system featuring 15” rotors in the front pinched between 6-piston calipers and 13.5” rotors out back with 4-piston rotors - all of which are equipped with high friction, high performance brake pads.

While Richard Petty’s Signature Series 2012 Ford Mustang GT is all about “go”, The King made sure that this car has a truly distinct look beginning with the Petty Signature Performance NASCAR-style rear spoiler and a 2.5” cowl induction style hood. Next, the Petty Garage called upon the help of the Ford parts catalog for a sportier front and rear fascia - with the entire body then finished in R-M BASF Onyx Waterborne Petty Blue paint. The exterior upgrades are completed with a rear decklid logo that offers the Petty Garage logo along with a series of black, white and red stripes running over the top of the car. Of course, the Richard Petty Signature Series Ford Mustang GT wouldn’t be complete without a giant rendition of The King’s autograph spread across the rear quarter panels.

Inside, Richard Petty’s Signature Series 2012 Ford Mustang GT adds model specific badging, Katzkin leather seats and a Hurst Billet Plus shifter - along with all of the goodies that come standard in the “normal” production level 2012 Mustang GT.

Very, very cool. We couldn't make it to SEMA this year, so thanks for posting. It's great to see the King's still pushing the envelope for performance and look of modern muscle. Please post a 'heads up' of where we might next see this Mustang in person. Thanks. — Linda

This exact car was built for and sold by Baxter Ford of Omaha, Ne. It was one killer looking car sitting on the showroom floor for a whole two weeks!
