The Chevrolet Camaro holds the leading role among cars that can talk in the modern Transformers series and with Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon set to hit theaters on June 28th, Chevrolet has announced the newest special edition Transformers-themed Camaro for the 2012 model year.

General Motors has previously offered a special trim package to pay homage to the bright yellow Camaro-shaped Transformer Bumblebee and the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition Camaro Coupe follows a similar design direction. The idea of this package is to offer Camaro and Transformer lovers a chance to own a Bumblebee of their very own, starting with the bright Rally Yellow exterior paint and Autobot logos on the front fenders along with the normal additions of the Camaro RS package. Next, the 2012 Transformers Camaro features a new Bumblebee specific rear spoiler and a pair of black stripes that run across the hood, roof and trunklid. The exterior upgrades finish up with a set of unique black wheels with Autobot logos on the center caps, wrapped in high performance summer tires. Also, if you really want to mimic the Bumblebee look, you can have your special edition Transformers Camaro Coupe equipped with a dealer-installed lower body kit and split spoke 21” wheels. On the inside, the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition Camaro Coupe comes with a black leather interior layout with black suede seat centers. Bright yellow stitching is found on the dash, door panels, center console and seats with an embroidered Autobot logo on the headrests and on the center console cover/armrest.

The new 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition Camaro Coupe officially becomes available in July and the package is available on 2LT (323 hp V6) or 2SS (426hp V8) models. This package comes with a price of $3,000 on top of the normal Camaro pricing and this does not include the dealer installed 21” wheel or ground effects package. Those who order this new Transformers package for the 2012 Camaro can expect to take delivery of their bright yellow Camaro in September.
